A factory worker’s life took a remarkable turn by winning the jackpot round of “It’s Showtime”'s popular game segment ‘Laro Laro Pick,’ bringing home the coveted jackpot prize of ₱650,000. Khen, a factory worker who took part in the segment last September 22, showcased confidence when he answered the final jackpot question regarding the full name of the current Senate President Pro Tempore of the country. Without hesitation, he answered, “Ping Lacson”. He thanked the program and the hosts for giving him the chance to join, saying, “Maraming salamat po sa Showtime, sa lahat ng bumubuo. Maraming-maraming salamat po makakauwi na ko sa amin.” Before the jackpot round, he shared that the jackpot prize would help him rebuild his family and pay off his debt.

In a heartfelt act of generosity, Kapamilya actor Donny Pangilinan donated ₱300,000 to a group of kariton vendors featured on the said segment. The donation was made through the show’s main host, the Unkabogable Star Vice Ganda. The emotional moment unfolded after the two kariton vendors shared their inspiring stories on the show last September 24. Deeply touched by their experiences, Donny immediately reached out to Vice Ganda to express his desire to help. During the live show, Vice shared, “Tumawag talaga siya sa akin. Sabi niya, ‘Vice, nadurog ako. Hindi ko kinaya yung episode. May chance ba na makita ko sila ulit? Hindi kaya ng kalooban ko kaya gusto ko magregalo.’” Donny donated ₱15,000 to each of the 20 vendors, calling it an early Christmas gift intended to provide relief and encouragement in their daily lives. Vice emphasized that Donny’s generosity extends beyond a one-time donation, stating, “Hindi lang ito ang pinangako ni Donny. Hindi lang ito ang una’t huling pagtulong niya sa atin.” In addition to Donny’s donation, Vice also shared an update on one of the vendors, Nanay Rosie, who had previously been living under a bridge. Vice announced that she had already found a new home for Nanay Rosie — a testament to the continued outreach efforts of the show. Meanwhile, Edlyn, a raketera, won the ₱100,000 jackpot after correctly answering the question: “How many zeroes are in 1 trillion?”

More than a source of daily entertainment for the madlang people, It’s Showtime continues to evolve as a platform for real-life impact. Vice expressed hope that more viewers will take notice of the show’s efforts, particularly through segments like Laro Laro Pick, and support its mission to bring aid and inspiration to more Filipinos in need. iWant Originals stars Fyang Smith and JM Ibarra of “Ghosting”, along with “Love at First Spike”'s Emilio Daez, are urging the public to stream content legally on iWant as pirated episodes of their shows appear on unauthorized platforms and black-market apps. Episodes of several most-talked-about and top-performing iWant titles, including the “Maalaala Mo Kaya” limited series, have been spotted on unauthorized platforms, often shortly after their official release on the streaming service.

The cast of “Ghosting” expressed their gratitude for the show’s strong reception while reminding viewers of the broader impact of piracy. “Streaming legally means everything to us. Not just for the cast, but for the writers, the crew, the director — everyone who trusted us even though we’re just starting out,” said JM and Fyang. Meanwhile, the cast of “Love at First Spike” also spoke out, emphasizing that every legal view is a vote of support for stories that reflect Filipino experiences and stories that deserve to be heard and seen. “We poured so much of ourselves into ‘Love at First Spike.’ So if it meant something to you — if you saw even a small part of yourself in it — the best way to show love back is to stream it legally on iWant,” said Emilio together with Sean Tristan and Reign Parani.

With subscriptions priced starting at just ₱35 per month in the Philippines (prices may vary in other countries based on local currency and rates), iWant provides viewers with affordable access to exclusive Filipino content, including originals, teleseryes, and live streams. Stream all the feels — legally and in full quality — only on iWant. Download the app and subscribe via Google Play or the Apple App Store.

GMA Network Honors Filipino Seafarers And Global Pinoys With Balangay Exhibit

GMA Network, through its overseas arm GMA International, celebrates Seafarer Month and Maritime Archipelagic Nation Awareness Month (MANAMo) this September through a meaningful tribute to the Philippines' maritime heritage — the Balangay Exhibit. Unveiled last September 24, 2026 at the GMA Network Center lobby in Quezon City, the Balangay Exhibit was attended by GMA International First Vice President and Head of Operations Joseph T. Francia and distinguished guests led by former Undersecretary and expedition leader of the Balangay Voyages Art Valdez, and Port Chaplain, Director of Stella Maris-Manila and National Seafarers Day committee representative Fr. Paulo Prigol. The event also featured musical performances by the award-winning Filipino artist Reuben Laurente.

“Filipinos have been global citizens long before the Spanish colonization, with our seafaring ancestors navigating vast oceans and building connections across distant lands. They were the original Global Pinoys, paving the way for today’s Filipino migrants and OFWs who continue that legacy on the world stage,” said Francis in his speech at the event. The exhibit features three Balangay replicas lent by Valdez. As the expedition leader of the Balangay Voyages, his team built and modeled ships after the sea vessel and traced the sea routes on which ancient Filipinos sailed. “The Balangay is not just a boat. It is a compass — pointing us back to our archipelagic soul, challenging centuries of amnesia, and showing us who we are. The Philippines is not merely a collection of islands. We are one maritime and archipelagic nation, bounded and unified together by the sea,” said Valdez Besides being a cultural showcase that honors the Philippines' maritime legacy, the Balangay Exhibit is also a tribute from GMA Network to Filipino seafarers and other overseas Filipino workers who sail far from their homeland to provide for their families. A vital part of the GMA Pinoy TV audience, their stories and enduring connection to the homeland continue to inspire the commitment of GMA International to bring them closer to home.

As GMA Network celebrates its 75th anniversary, it continues to create and produce programs that highlight compelling Filipino storytelling, reaching Global Pinoys across multiple platforms. Through GMA Pinoy TV, which also marks its 20th anniversary this year, Global Pinoys continue to enjoy entertainment and have access to information on the latest goings-on from home, plus highly-anticipated concerts, live showcases, and cultural events bannered by beloved Kapuso stars.
