Philippine broadcast media giant GMA Network is strengthening its broadcast operations by improving operational efficiency, adopting next-generation IP and cloud-based delivery, and establishing a new standard for modern broadcasting through a strategic partnership with leading global video technology company Synamedia and its local distribution partner, Telered Technologies & Services Corporation. The partnership enables GMA Network – through Synamedia’s Quortex Link platform – to distribute its international channels – GMA Pinoy TV, GMA Life TV, and GMA News TV – more reliably and cost-effectively, expand into new markets with agility, and maintain a high-quality viewing experience for Filipino audiences worldwide.

The agreement was formalized during a contract signing held last December 16, 2025 at the GMA Network Center in Quezon City. Representing GMA Network were First Vice President and Head of International Operations Joseph T. Francia, First Vice President for Administration and Investor Relations Ari P. Chio, and Assistant Vice President for International Operations and IP Migration Project Manager Cherry R. FlorCruz. On the other hand, Synamedia was represented by Vice President for Global Sales Video Network Vince Matherne, Regional Sales Director for Australia/New Zealand and Southeast Asia Lindsay Ryan, and Head of Sales for APAC Ken Yap while Telered, Synamedia’s local distribution partner in the Philippines, is represented by President Redentor Laset and Vice President for Sales, Marketing, and Business Development Chris Mauricio. Francia stated, “Moving from satellite to IP has allowed us to significantly cut costs and streamline our operations. With Synamedia’s technology and support, and Telered’s technical expertise and end-to-end capabilities, we’ve simplified our workflows, reduced complexity, and improved efficiency across the board.” Chio added, “This transition is not just a technical upgrade but a strategic move to optimize our resources. By embracing cloud-based solutions, we are ensuring GMA’s long-term sustainability and operational resilience in an increasingly digital global landscape.” Synamedia's Matherne commented, “At Synamedia, we are delighted to assist our most important client with the game-changing transition from satellite to IP and GMA is a textbook example of a local broadcaster leading the way in industry transformation.” Mauricio of Telered said, “We are delighted to collaborate with GMA to enhance its global reach and accessibility to millions of Filipinos worldwide. As a technology partner, we aim to elevate Filipino offerings alongside other global providers.”

GMA Network's collaboration with Synamedia began in 2023 when its international arm GMA International transitioned the distribution of its channels — GMA Pinoy TV GMA Life TV and GMA News TV — into cloud-based distribution, starting with affiliates in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). The rollout expanded to the Asia-Pacific region by late 2024 and is now in its final phase, extending to the United States and Canada. The shift underscores the Network's commitment to further expanding its services across digital and online platforms, bridging distances and nurturing connections for a global Filipino audience wherever they may be, while enhancing the viewing experience. Through this strategic partnership, GMA Network is setting a new industry standard for broadcasters transitioning from satellite to IP. Synamedia Vice President of Video Network Product Management Elke Hungenaert commented, “GMA gives other broadcasters a blueprint for how to switch off satellite and smoothly move to IP for video distribution. With Quortex Link delivering new levels of business agility and scalability, GMA can now grow revenues through partnerships with pay-TV operators and affiliates to reach its loyal audience of Pinoys with a first-class viewing experience.”
