Anak TV formally kicked off the 2026 Anak TV Awards season in Ilocos Sur, beginning the nationwide screening and voting process that determines which television programs will earn the coveted Anak TV seal. The symposium held at Saint Paul College of Ilocos Sur combined media education with actual program screenings, underscoring Anak TV’s advocacy of empowering Filipino families to become responsible and discerning media consumers.

Anuman ang sitwasyon ng inyong pamilya, mahalaga ang papel ninyo bilang magulang. Kayo ang ilaw na gumagabay sa mga bata. Being the light means guiding your children to make the right and responsible decisions on their media consumption,” said Anak TV President Elvira Yap-Go. Keynote speakers were Knowledge Channel Foundation Inc. Head of Platforms and Partnerships Danie Rose Sedilla-Cruz and Anak TV Vice President and ABS-CBN Head of Corporate Communications Kane Errol Choa. Sedilla-Cruz spoke about empowering children through responsible content creation while Choa presented case studies on hate and cyberbullying on social media, underscoring responsible online behavior and offering practical coping strategies to survive online bullying. Meanwhile, school chaplain Rev. Msgr. Gary Noel Formoso, school president Sr. Ma. Nilda Masirag, and guidance services team leader Sr. Dahlia Corazon Dabu expressed strong support for the media literacy initiative of Anak TV and reaffirmed the school’s commitment to promoting responsible media engagement among students and families. Anak TV ambassadors Ayra Mariano and Joshua Dionisio, hosts of UNTV's weekday early morning news and public service program Good Morning Kuya, also graced the event and performed song numbers during the program.

A highlight of the event was the participation of the parents in screening and selecting child-friendly TV shows that can sport the prestigious Anak TV Seal. The participants were also asked who among the personalities they see on TV would they want their children to emulate as role models. Grade 3 to 6 pupils also joined the AnakTV Larolympics featuring games such as sipa, piko, and sack race, reinforcing Anak TV’s advocacy of promoting physical activity and traditional Filipino outdoor games among kids. Best known for its annual Anak TV Awards, Anak TV is composed of major television networks and media stakeholders in the Philippines. Beyond the awards, the organization conducts media literacy symposiums nationwide to educate families on the wise use of media and the responsible media consumption of children. The Anak TV Awards recognize television programs that meet child-sensitive and family-friendly standards. Programs that receive the Anak TV Seal are affirmed by parents, teachers, and students as suitable for children.
