As he approaches a significant 13-year milestone with the company this June 2026, renowned lifestyle and entertainment content creator Rod Magaru is opening up about his journey as a long-time partner and volunteer for Globe Telecom. Central to this decade-long relationship is Rod Magaru’s active involvement in the Globe Of Good ecosystem where he has transitioned from a brand advocate to a hands-on volunteer in some of the country’s most impactful social responsibility programs.
When the invitation arrived for Rod Magaru to speak and share his volunteer journey at the Globe Of Good Storytellers’ Night, he accepted the opportunity without a moment’s hesitation. It marked a significant shift in his career, moving beyond digital metrics to stand on a stage where his influence was measured not by likes but by the tangible lives touched through his partnership with Globe. Rod Magaru’s volunteerism has been marked by several key high-impact events over the past two years:
● 2024: Fighting Hunger with the Hapag Movement. Rod Magaru joined forces with the Hapag Movement, a flagship Globe initiative in partnership with the UN World Food Programme (WFP) and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD). He participated in mobilizing support for families experiencing involuntary hunger, helping bridge the gap between digital solutions and grassroots feeding programs.
● 2025: GDay and Save The Children. During the GDay celebrations last year, Rod Magaru was seen on the front lines of the “91.7 Minutes Of Globe Of Good” campaign. He participated in kitting and packing essential supplies for Save The Children, ensuring that hygiene and relief kits were ready for distribution to vulnerable youth in disaster-prone areas.
For Rod Magaru, the decision to remain a “Ka-Globe” for over a decade goes beyond typical influencer partnerships. He shared, “Partnering with an organization that is recognized globally for its impact empowers me as a creator. Knowing that Globe is the only Philippine telco recognized by TIME Magazine as one of the World’s Most Sustainable Companies gives me the confidence that the projects I support are creating real, measurable change.”
Globe’s inclusion in the prestigious 2025 TIME/Statista list highlights its excellence in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices — a factor Rod Magaru cites as a primary motivator for his continued advocacy. What started as a tech-lifestyle collaboration has evolved into a purpose-driven alliance, proving that the digital space can be a powerful tool for social good. As he looks forward to the next chapter, Rod Magaru remains committed to using his platform to inspire other “Ka-Globes” and followers to take part in volunteerism, emphasizing that every small act — whether it’s packing a kit or donating rewards points — contributes to a larger #GlobeOfGood.
