Isla Group, the powerhouse behind Solane, has officially inaugurated its largest and most advanced facility to date: Isla Import Terminals Inc. (IITI) in Barangay Libjo, Batangas City. The landmark infrastructure represents a significant milestone in meeting the Philippines’ expanding energy needs. More than just a logistical hub, the IITI Plant reinforces Isla Group’s unwavering commitment to providing a steady, reliable, and safe supply of LPG to millions of Filipino households and vital industries nationwide.
Empowering Progress: A Shared Future With The Filipino People
Beyond the steel and technology of the IITI Plant lies Empowering Progress, the Isla Group’s foundational commitment to the Filipino people. This initiative represents the Group’s belief that access to clean, safe, and efficient energy is a catalyst for national growth. By ensuring that Solane LPG remains a steadfast partner for everyone from small-scale entrepreneurs and local carinderias to major industrial players. By ensuring a reliable energy supply, the Isla Group is actively fueling the economic engines of the community. The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Isla Group Executive Committee and key officers, alongside top representatives from the Isla's strategic partner ITOCHU Group. During the event, leadership emphasized that the new facility is a testament to the company’s commitment to expanding LPG supply capacity and strengthening energy security across the Philippines. “Today marks a significant milestone for ISLA. This terminal is far more than mere infrastructure; it is a powerful symbol of our commitment. This terminal represents our dedication to strengthening the nation’s energy supply, our pursuit of operational excellence, and our unwavering collaboration with the government, our partners, and the communities we are so proud to serve”, said Isla Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Tomoaki Asai.
Ensuring Accessibility From Industry To Kitchen
Designed as the group’s most sophisticated terminal, the IITI Terminal serves as the heart of Solane’s nationwide distribution network. It is engineered to bridge the gap between global supply and local demand, ensuring that high-quality LPG remains accessible — whether for large-scale industrial use or the everyday Filipino kitchen. Citadel Pacific Ltd. President and CEO Jose Ricardo Delgado shared, “This project has been on our drawing board for over ten years. Now that we finally have our own home, our hope is to use this facility to support the industry here in South Luzon and work proactively to improve logistics for all players. Our partnership with Magsaysay Shipping to launch our own LPG tanker further enhances this, allowing us to deliver energy across the archipelago for the benefit of the entire industry and the delight of our customers.” Delgado emphasized that the terminal’s ability to handle cargo from Filipino-Japanese joint ventures is a game-changer. This collaboration, exemplified by firms like ITOCHU CORPORATION, strengthens the country’s energy security by opening supply routes outside the Persian Gulf.
Setting The Gold Standard For Safety
The IITI Plant is equipped with world-class safety systems and cutting-edge monitoring technology, further solidifying Solane’s reputation as the “gold standard” for safety. From modern storage infrastructure to enhanced control mechanisms, every feature is built to uphold the highest standards of security and environmental responsibility. ITOCHU CORPORATION Energy & Chemicals Company President Masaya Tanaka stated, “The project we inaugurate today represents exactly what we believe in. It is good for the Philippines by strengthening energy security, safety, and supply stability. The LPG received here in Batangas will serve as a vital starting point, from which energy will be transported to various regions across the archipelago. It is about empowering tomorrow and beyond.”
A Partnership For National Development
The event underscored a robust collaboration between the private sector and the government that include Japanese Ambassador to the Philippines His Excellency Kazuya Endo, Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Maria Cristina Aldegue-Roque, Department of Energy (DOE) Undersecretary Alessandro Sales, and the Batangas City LGU headed by City Mayor Hon. Mario Vittorio A. MariƱo gracing this special event. With the official inauguration of Isla Import Terminals Inc. (IITI) in Batangas City, the message remained clear: Isla Group is not just building terminals; it is fueling the future, one safe and reliable Solane cylinder at a time, for every Filipino’s peace of mind.
Positioning The Philippines For Global Energy Partnerships
With its expanding infrastructure and strong track record in the LPG sector, Isla Group is positioning itself as a potential partner for global investors and corporate energy players seeking opportunities in the Philippines. Backed by a diverse portfolio across importation, logistics, and distribution, the company continues to demonstrate growth and operational success. This makes Isla Group a compelling investment partner for international businesses looking to enter or expand in the Philippine energy market.
