Jollibee, the number one fastfood chain in the Philippines, celebrated its first-ever National Day of JOY last March 20, 2026, coinciding with the country's observance of the International Day of Happiness. The day combined community outreach, a mall event, and digital activities to inspire Filipinos to share joy with others.

“Jollibee has always been about serving great-tasting food and sharing the joy of eating with everyone. That’s why International Day of Happiness is so special for us because it reminds us why we do what we do. National Day of JOY gives us the chance to celebrate those moments and inspire everyone to share happiness. It can be as simple as a family meal, a child’s birthday, or a small act of kindness. Every day, we have the power to brighten someone’s world, and that’s what we want to celebrate together,” said Jollibee Philippines Vice President for Marketing Dorothy Ching. The highlight of the celebration took place at One Ayala in Makati where the beloved Jollibee mascot welcomed families and friends with hugs and complimentary Crunchy Chicken Sandwiches. Smiles brightened faces as guests posed for photos and shared playful moments with both companions and strangers. Beyond the mall, the festivities reached orphanages and elderly care facilities nationwide. Jollibee brought joy to Missionaries of the Poor in Manila, Little Angels Home Inc. in South Luzon, Children’s Home of Eucharistic Love and Kindness in North Luzon, Ramon Durano Foundation Home for the Aged in Visayas, and Davao Veil Geriatric Home Care in Mindanao. Children beamed as they received treats while seniors shared joyful stories and warmly embraced the surprise visits, demonstrating how simple acts can brighten hearts.

The online celebration extended the joy further. Netizens posted their own JOYful moments on Facebook, showing family celebrations, playful selfies, and joyful experiences at Jollibee. The trending X Party encouraged fans of Jollibee endorsers and the general public to share stories and videos spreading happiness, creating a virtual chain of smiles and laughter across the country. Meanwhile, the “Choose Your JOY” delivery promo added extra delight to households, offering free delivery on orders over ₱500 placed through the Jollibee App or order.jollibee.com or a free Peach Mango Pie on orders over ₱300. By making each activity both interactive and meaningful, Jollibee’s National Day of JOY reinforced the brand as a cultural connector, showing how small gestures like hugs, treats, and shared stories can brighten lives nationwide.

Okada Foundation Inc. (OFI), the charitable arm of Okada Manila, has donated Php3M (3 million pesos) to the Asian Cultural Council Philippines Foundation Inc. (ACCPFI) to support Filipino artists and scholars participating in international artistic exchange programs. The contribution helps fund a six-month residency abroad, giving selected Filipino creatives opportunities for mentorship, collaboration, and cultural exchange with global peers. To mark the partnership, OFI hosted a meet and greet with Asian Cultural Council (ACC) Chairperson Josie Natori last March 13, 2026 at Okada Manila, bringing together representatives and partners to strengthen collaboration in advancing Filipino arts and culture.

The gathering provided an opportunity for OFI representatives and partners to engage with Natori and reaffirm a shared commitment to expanding international opportunities for Filipino artists and scholars. The partnership supports initiatives that allow Filipino creatives to build global connections, refine their craft, and bring new perspectives back to the local arts community. Founded in 1963 by John D. Rockefeller III, the Asian Cultural Council has played a key role in fostering international cultural exchange across disciplines in the arts. Over the decades, the organization has granted more than 300 awards supporting artists, scholars, and cultural practitioners in pursuing cross-cultural study, collaboration, and artistic development around the world. In the Philippines, ACC works closely with Asian Cultural Council Philippines Foundation Inc. which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. Since its establishment in 2000, ACCPFI has supported generations of Filipino artists including National Artists such as Lamberto Avellana, Jose Joya, and Alice Reyes. Through fellowships, grants, and international exchanges, the foundation continues to provide Filipino creatives with opportunities to share their work globally while contributing to the country’s cultural landscape.

“Our contribution to the Asian Cultural Council Philippines Foundation helps sustain programs that open doors for Filipino artists to participate in international residencies and collaborative exchanges. Through this support, we hope to empower more Filipino creatives to represent the Philippines on the global stage,” said Okada Foundation Inc. President James Lorenzana. The initiative was guided by Okada Green Heart, Okada Manila’s sustainability and community engagement program under its Talent and Community pillar which supports initiatives that promote individual growth, cultural development, and meaningful community connections. Through initiatives that support Filipino artists and scholars, the Okada Foundation continues to contribute to the advancement of Philippine arts and culture while creating pathways for local talent to engage with the global creative community.

7-Eleven Goes Beyond The Hour In Its Earth Hour 2026 Participation

(Image Source: Corner Magazine PH/7-Eleven Philippines)

As a brand that always looks out for its community, 7-Eleven finds ways to leave a positive impact, not just for its loyal customers, but for the environment as it continues to strengthen its commitment to sustainability. The brand proactively participated in Earth Hour once more last March 28, 2026, joining millions in the global movement for climate change awareness, as part of its ongoing efforts to inspire action for a greener planet. During Earth Hour, over 4,000 7-Eleven stores nationwide have turned off non-essential lights and dim their iconic 7-Eleven signs from 8:30 to 9:30 pm, encouraging people to give an hour for the Earth.

The annual symbolic event is a show of commitment to a sustainable future, causing a temporary yet noticeable reduction in global energy usage. For 7-Eleven, these Earth-first efforts don’t stop at dimming its lights; the brand has been going toward a more sustainable direction as seen in its year-long series of initiatives that make its eco-friendly practices integral to the brand. The nation’s Paboritong Kapitbahay™ calls on customers to integrate eco-friendly choices into their everyday lives in small, tangible ways. First, through its Good Coffee, Good Habits campaign, the brand rewards patrons who choose reusable cups with up to ₱5 discount on any City Cafe and City Prima drink. They also encourage coffee lovers in Mindanao to support the 7-Eleven City Cafe Farm to Cup initiative which helps sustain the livelihood of indigenous farmers from the MILALITTRA Farmers Agriculture Cooperative (MILFACO) in Talakag, Bukidnon. Aside from these coffee-centric efforts, 7-Eleven promotes the Bring Your Own Bag practice, especially on Wednesdays, to reduce single-use plastics in everyday purchases. The brand also features a solar-powered store in Pampanga, marking a significant step toward reducing carbon emissions in its operations.

7-Eleven emphasizes that convenience doesn’t have to cost environmental care. In fact, it can go hand in hand with small, consistent, and impactful choices. Whether it’s switching to reusable cups and bags, supporting a sustainable cause, or joining a global movement, every action counts in protecting the Earth. Together, through shared responsibility, 7-Eleven believes in going beyond the hour and to a more sustainable future for the planet.
