Premier health and wellness company, community and platform Herbalife has officially partnered with HyveSports & Women’s Fitness Asia for a year-long collaboration that will power some of the country’s biggest running and fitness events in 2026. The collaboration reflects Herbalife’s focus in supporting everyday fitness communities, where many Filipinos begin building active lifestyles, while strengthening its presence across large-scale, community-driven events nationwide.

Herbalife Philippines General Manager Kinki Lau said the partnership reflects a shared goal of making wellness more accessible and sustainable, stating, “We see more people looking for ways to stay active, but consistency is often the challenge. Through this partnership, we aim to support communities across the country by making fitness more accessible, engaging and be part of everyday life. By connecting with people through large-scale events like this, we can help inspire consistency and empower more individuals to stay active over the long term.” HyveSports CEO Julius Em and Women’s Fitness Asia Philippines Founder Justine Cordero-Em echoed this, emphasizing the partnership’s role in creating more inclusive and engaging fitness experiences. “At HyveSports, our goal has always been to get more people moving in a way that feels fun and inclusive,” said Justine. Julius adds, “With Herbalife, we can take that even further by supporting Filipinos not just during events, but throughout their fitness journey. Together, we’re making it easier for more communities to stay active.” The partnership was officially announced during the return of The Music Run Manila 2026 at Filinvest City Events Grounds in Alabang. More than 4,000 runners will be joining the 5K and 10K races which combined music, movement and entertainment through DJ-powered race zones and a post-run festival experience.

As part of the event experience, Herbalife activated an on-site refreshment and hydration nutrition and recovery booth that offered product sampling, shakes and wellness engagement activities for thousands of participants throughout the day. Building on the momentum, Herbalife will continue to support a series of major mass participation events organized by HyveSports throughout 2026 including ColorFest Carnival run, Electric Night Run and Trifactor & Amazon for Triathlon & Duathlon races and other large-scale fitness experiences expected to draw tens of thousands of participants nationwide. Through these events, Herbalife aims to support more Filipinos in staying active and building habits that fit into their everyday lives.

Rakuten Viki To Stream ‘Bonjour Bakery’, A Heartwarming Variety Show Where Pastries Meet Life’s Sweetest Stories

Rakuten Viki, the global streaming destination for Asian entertainment, recently announced the Southeast Asia-exclusive premiere of Bonjour Bakery, a new Korean variety series where four acclaimed actors — Kim Hee-ae, Cha Seung-won, Kim Seon-ho, and Lee Ki-taek — serve French-inspired desserts at a rural café. Introducing what producers describe as Korea’s first “Senior Dessert Café”, the series operates under a “Yes Senior Zone” concept, reserving the café exclusively for older guests above 65 and their companions. Departing from conventional competition formats, Bonjour Bakery builds its narrative through unscripted exchanges and everyday human moments — each episode anchored by elderly guests sharing personal stories over desserts crafted from locally sourced Korean ingredients.

The cast is divided between kitchen and front-of-house roles. Cha Seung-won (Hwayugi), known for his cooking skills on the long-running Three Meals a Day, leads as head pâtissier with the youngest cast member Lee Ki-taek (The Practical Guide to Love) bringing a spontaneous, energetic presence as his assistant. On the floor, Kim Hee-ae (Moonlit Winter) oversees guest interactions as general manager while Kim Seon-ho (100 Days My Prince) — widely beloved as the “Nation’s Grandson” — serves as barista, connecting with guests through his characteristically warm demeanor. The contrast in personalities across both teams drives much of the show’s tone, balancing structure with improvisation and light moments with more reflective ones. The series is also set to feature guest bakers throughout the season, adding fresh dynamics to the café’s growing story. Central to the format is its intergenerational storytelling. Elderly guests are invited to share unfiltered accounts of their lives — woven naturally into the rhythm of hospitality and dessert service. All four cast members completed hands-on baking or barista training ahead of production, reinforcing the show’s commitment to authenticity.

With its focus on warmth and emotional resonance, Bonjour Bakery is positioned to appeal across generations — from younger viewers drawn to its star-studded cast to older audiences who may see their own stories reflected on screen. Bonjour Bakery premiered last May 8 and is now available on-demand on Rakuten Viki across Southeast Asia including Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand. The addition continues Viki’s expansion into variety entertainment alongside recent acquisitions I Live Alone and The Return Of Superman.

(Image Source: Corner Magazine PH/McDonald's Philippines)

McDonald’s Philippines and the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Philippines officially turned over the 56th Ronald McDonald Bahay Bulilit Learning Center to the City of Manila earlier in April. In a ceremonial event held at the McDonald’s United Nations–Del Pilar store, McDonald’s officials handed over the key to the latest Bahay Bulilit Learning Center to Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso, as well as other city officials. Located in Boystown Manila, this Bahay Bulilit is also the second such facility in the city following the one in Quirino.

As the newest Bahay Bulilit Learning Center in the country, Bahay Bulilit Boystown actively supports the early childhood care and development needs of young learners in the community. The nationwide network of 56 Bahay Bulilit Learning Centers serves over 5,000 preschoolers every year. “Today marks an important milestone for us with our Ronald McDonald Bahay Bulilit efforts in Manila. We remain committed to working alongside partners to support workers, families, and communities in meaningful ways. The opening of the second Bahay Bulilit in Manila is also an expression of our continuing partnership with the city, not only through business, but also through programs that address community needs, such as education and employment, among others,” said McDonald’s Philippines Managing Director Margot Torres. Joining Mayor Domagoso at the event were Manila Vice Mayor Angela Lei Ilagan Atienza-Valdepeñas, City Administrator Atty. Eduardo Quintos XIV, and Manila Department of Social Welfare Head Jay R. dela Fuente. Also present at the turnover were top McDonald’s officials which included Torres, Vice President for Human Capital Group Ben Marasigan, RMHC Executive Director Maricar Angeles, and Corporate Communications Director Howard Lance Uyking.

In the same event, Mayor Domagoso provided rice assistance for McDonald’s crew members including senior citizens who are part of the company’s inclusive hiring program M For All. The Biyayang Bigas Para Sa Maynila rice distribution was part of the city’s social relief measures in partnership with the Office of the President under the 2026 Local Government Support Fund. Since 2019, McDonald’s has been working closely with the City of Manila to provide economic opportunities for senior citizens. At present, as many as 51 senior citizens are actively working in 26 company-owned and franchise stores in Manila.

Our People, Our Pride: Palawan Group Of Companies Honors Loyal Employees Who Helped Lay The Foundation Of Its Success

(Image Source: Mindanao Daily News/Palawan Group Of Companies)

The Palawan Group of companies recently recognized its most loyal associates; its heroes who helped build the foundation of what has become the most trusted non-bank financial services provider. Sixty-one (61) employees who are celebrating their 20th, 25th and 30th year of service, respectively, were honored for their contributions and their commitment to upholding Tatak Palawan At Serbisyong Pusong Palawan all these years. Awardees and their families were flown to the company’s headquarters in Puerto Princesa City in Palawan and were given a much-deserved red carpet treatment.

The heartfelt ceremony, dubbed as “Gintong Lingkod: Pinagtibay Ng Panahon, Pinakinang Ng Dedikasyon”, held at the Princesa Garden Island Resort on April 15, 2026 was attended by the company’s founders, Board of Directors, and key leaders. It was thoughtfully planned to honor the awardees not only for their role in the growth of the business but also for living out the Palawan Group’s core values of humility, service, and genuine love to customers. In her welcome remarks, Palawan Group Chief Human Resources Officer Korina Castro-Fernando thanked the awardees not just for their loyalty to the company who has continued to live out the Kulturang Palawan of integrity and sincere service to sukis, stating, “Mapalad tayo dahil habang tayo ay nagtatrabaho para ating mga pamilya, tayo rin ay nakakapag-ambag sa ating mahal na Pilipinas. May natutulungan tayong mga komunidad, may natutulungan tayong mga kababayan at kapwa Pilipino. Sa bawat transaksyon o serbisyo, may buhay tayong naabot, may pag-asang naipaparating.” This appreciation was echoed by co-founder and deputy chairman Angelita Castro who remarked, “What makes me most proud is not just how long you have stayed, but how you have carried yourselves through the years. You embody integrity, dedication, and genuine care for one another, for our company, and above all, for the customers and communities we serve. Ang inyong puso upang paglingkuran ang ating mga kababayan at ang minamahal nating Pilipinas ang nagsilbing daan hindi lamang upang ang ating kumpanya ay maging matagumpay; ngunit maging mapagmalasakit rin.” Select awardees delivered speeches, personal accounts of how being part of the Palawan Group impacted their lives, which earned a blend of laughter, tears and cheers from the audience.

Grace Balolong, a 20-year service awardee who rose from the ranks and is now the company’s Finance Head, remarked, “My path has not been flawless. I encountered setbacks, made mistakes, and faced moments of uncertainty. Yet every challenge became a lesson, and every failure pushed me to strive for excellence. Over the years, I was entrusted with increasing responsibilities that tested my skills, resilience, and integrity. I am truly grateful to the Palawan Group.” Each awardee received a certificate and a 24-karat Palawan gold: 1 gram gold coin for 20-year awardees, 2 gram for 25-years awardees, and 3 gram gold bar for our 30-year awardees. They were each called to the stage, accompanied by a loved one to receive the token, and were greeted warmly by the company’s leaders. Many also shared their personal journeys with the company, offering reflections that were both inspiring and moving. The Gintong Lingkod awards is part of the Palawan Group of Companies’ efforts to nurture a workplace where employees are valued, empowered and celebrated. It reflects the company’s commitment to upholding Tatak Palawan: the spirit of bayanihan and service.

PHLPost Brings Real-World Readiness To CEU Students

(Image Source: Metro News Central/Philippine Postal Corporation)

Students of Centro Escolar University (CEU) marked their annual USC Days into a milestone of student empowerment, taking a meaningful step towards independence held last April 22-24, 2026 at the University Student Activity Center. At the PHLPost booth, one of the biggest draws was the opportunity to apply for a valid government-issued Postal ID. For many students, it was their first time securing an official identification card that can be used for banking transactions, claiming remittances, completing school requirements, and applying for internships or part-time work.

Beyond convenience, the experience gave students a sense of preparedness for real-life responsibilities. One student shared, “Ngayon may ID na ako, mas kampante na ako mag-apply.” Alongside the ID application services, PHLPost also introduced the “Express Mo, Love Mo Kay Nanay” activity in time for Mother’s Day. Students wrote and sent postcards to their mothers, made more personal through Selfie Stamps featuring their own photos turned into official postage to mail their cards and letters. Between processing Postal ID applications and writing heartfelt messages, the booth became a space where two important parts of growing up met – preparing for the future, and staying connected to home.

The three-day event highlighted Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost)’s continued relevance in the lives of young Filipinos, serving not only as a provider of essential services but also as a partner in both everyday needs and meaningful life moments.
