Following the breakout success of FOX's hit survival competition series Extracted which has attracted more than 45 million viewers across its first two seasons, FOX Entertainment Global recently announced the debut of its new, turnkey production hub in the wilds of Lake Kenyir, Malaysia with its jaguars, pythons, and treacherous terrain. The modern, hi-tech facility is set to unlock a faster, more efficient, and cost-effective model for licensees around the world to adapt and produce localized versions of the hugely popular format.

The new hub, where Season Three of FOX's U.S. network series was completely filmed, combines one of the world's most dramatic natural survival environments with a specialized, state-of-the-art production ecosystem designed specifically for international format licensees. Purpose-built around the needs of FOX's hit series and subsequent international adaptations, the Malaysia hub dramatically reduces the time, complexity, and cost traditionally associated with launching a premium, large-scale survival competition. A permanent headquarters and sets, experienced local crews, established production workflows, and scalable production models allow buyers to step directly into a production that's already been built, tested, and proven. Rather than spending months recreating the world of Extracted, format licensees can dramatically reduce pre-production time and cost and instead focus on casting compelling local personalities and telling stories that resonate with their own audiences while FOX Entertainment Global provides the production foundation vital to the series' success. “Extracted has all the ingredients of a universally resonant format: a powerful premise, stunning visuals, unforgettable family dynamics, and incredibly high stakes. The infrastructure we've built in this Malaysia hub accelerates the series' international expansion, offering licensees the infrastructure and expertise to create their own versions more efficiently, while delivering the scale and intensity that make the show so compelling,” said FOX Entertainment Global President Prentiss Fraser. Located in the breathtaking wilderness of Lake Kenyir, the hub creates an environment that feels truly untamed while remaining remarkably accessible for international productions including regional airports and transportation, accommodations, and medical services. Malaysia's experienced English-speaking crews, centralized global access, and attractive tax incentives of up to 30% on qualifying production spend make it as compelling commercially as it is creatively. In addition, licensees can access significant tax incentives in neighboring Australia on qualifying post-production expenditures there.

Behind the scenes, Extracted's Malaysian production operation deploys more cameras than the Super Bowl, capturing every decision, every survival challenge, and every emotional family moment at a cinematic scale that has become synonymous with the franchise. Combined with permanent standing infrastructure, the result is a production ecosystem unlike any other in unscripted television. Extracted challenges ordinary people to survive alone in an unforgiving wilderness with no training, no supplies, and no contact with the outside world. Watching every moment from a remote headquarters are their loved ones, who ultimately decide whether to let them continue or press the ever-present “EXTRACT” button, ending both the contestant's journey and their family's chance at the grand prize. Since its debut, the series has reached more than 45 million viewers and established itself as one of FOX's signature unscripted franchises. The original format combines survival, strategy, and the ultimate test of family dynamics by placing contestants' fate – for better or worse – in the hands of the people who love them most.

The group has given fans some of the most enduring hits of the 2000s, including “All Rise”, “One Love”, “Best In Me”, “If You Come Back”, “Too Close”, “U Make Me Wanna”, and their collaboration with Elton John “Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word”. Twenty-five years later, all four original members remain together, still making music, and celebrating the friendship and chemistry that have carried them through their extraordinary career. Their new album Reflections captures that journey through 13 songs written by the band, drawing on their collective triumphs, personal experiences and musical influences. Puregold CinePanalo’s Blockbuster Hit “Multwoh (Patay Na Patay Sa’Yo)” Earns Nationwide Run With Ayala Cinemas

(Image Source: SINEGANG.ph/Puregold CinePanalo/Spicy Mama Creative Studio)

Due to massive public demand, “Multwoh (Patay Na Patay Sa’Yo)” has announced a nationwide theatrical run with screenings in 13 Ayala Cinemas across the country. Named the audience’s choice from seven full-length films that participated in the Puregold CinePanalo festival, “Multwoh” was a blockbuster smash with sold-out screenings being reported all over the metro.

Coming off one of the most successful Puregold CinePanalo runs to date, “Multwoh” was not only a hit with audiences but among critics as well. The film reaped four awards during the festival’s annual awards night: Always Panalo Award, Panalo Sa Mga Manonood, Panalo Sa Production Design, and Panalo Sa Brand Intrusion. With accolades and rabid audiences behind it, “Multwoh” is now coming to theaters nationwide, including cinemas in Cebu, Cagayan de Oro and more. What made “Multwoh” such a monster hit? For one, the film was driven by the star power of its viral lead Sassa Gurl as well as the crew’s sensational promotional maneuvers. On top of various press interviews and online appearances, Sassa Gurl gamely slid into a coffin in a public display that was meant to sow intrigue among cinema fans about the film’s premise. While receiving the audience choice award at the Puregold CinePanalo Awards Night, Rodina Singh spoke on the importance of viewers choosing queer stories, stating, “To me as a filmmaker, this [Panalo sa Manonood award] feels the most validating among all the awards for tonight. Sumali po ako sa pagpepelikula na ang tanong sa samin, ‘may manonood ba ng kwentong gusto niyong ikwento?’ Sa pangatalong pagkakatoon, sasabihin ko po na ang ‘Multwoh’ ay nahigitan na ang lahat ng screenings ng una ko pang pelikula at pangalawa.”

The film’s success speaks to the hunger that Pinoy audiences have for diverse stories. Far from alienating audiences with its queer characters and unabashedly proud tone, “Multwoh” has been a commercial dynamo attracting viewers of all ages and backgrounds. “Multwoh (Patay na Patay Sa’yo) returns to the big screen starting October 21, 2026 at Glorietta, Trinoma, Market! Market!, Fairview Terraces, Ayala Malls Manila Bay, Ayala Malls Circuit, Ayala Malls Feliz, Ayala Malls Cloverleaf, Ayala Malls Marquee, Ayala Malls Harbor Point, Ayala Malls Center Cebu, Ayala Malls Centrio, and Ayala Malls Central Bloc.

TBS And Banijay Rights Expand Ninja Warrior Partnership

Tokyo Broadcasting System (TBS) and Banijay Rights, the global distribution arm of media and entertainment group Banijay Entertainment, officially announced an agreement for international sales of finished programmes of the legendary sportainment franchise Ninja Warrior. The deal builds on the strategic format licensing agreement signed between TBS and Banijay Entertainment back in October 2025, bringing the format into the number one global producer and distributor’s elite portfolio of superbrands.

Banijay Rights Executive Vice President for Content and Acquisitions Simon Cox, who brokered the deal, said, “After taking on the format rights last year, it felt only right to go the whole course. We’re thrilled to now add the finished tape rights of Ninja Warrior to the Banijay Rights catalogue. One of the most iconic and enduring entertainment brands in the world, few shows combine excitement, heart and sheer spectacle in quite the same way, and we’re looking forward to bringing all the unforgettable triumphs, near misses and jaw-dropping moments that have made Ninja Warrior a global phenomenon to even more audiences around the world.” TBS Director of Global Sales Development Takumi Watanabe said, “Less than a year after licensing the format distribution rights for Ninja Warrior to Banijay Entertainment, the show has already returned to two countries. Next year marks the 30th anniversary of SASUKE, the original Japanese show on which Ninja Warrior is based. Together with Banijay Rights, we look forward to bringing the format to more countries, building on its global success, and ensuring it continues to delight audiences around the world for years to come.” Interest in the franchise continues to grow as SASUKE has inspired an obstacle race in modern pentathlon, which will be included in the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games. Together with Banijay Entertainment, the world’s largest independent production and distribution business, TBS aims to accelerate the global expansion of Ninja Warrior.

A global phenomenon since its launch, Ninja Warrior has entertained audiences worldwide with its nail-biting physical challenges, powerful athleticism, and high-stakes competition. The format showcases extraordinary strength, speed, agility, and mental toughness, as everyday competitors push their limits on fiercely demanding obstacle courses.

IV OF SPADES Finds Freedom In The Unexpected With New Single “Rollercoaster”

(Image Source: Manila Standard/Sony Music Entertainment Philippines)

Fresh from a strong showing at the 2026 Awit Awards where they took home Album of the Year and Song of the Year and the Filipino Music Awards where they won Alternative Song of the Year, Filipino band IV OF SPADES returns with “Rollercoaster”, a new single that explores the exhilaration of surrendering to the moment and embracing life’s unpredictable turns.

Released during the band’s US/Canada tour, “Rollercoaster” borrows from a colorful palette of sonic influences while retaining the inventive sensibility that has defined their previous work. A vibrant, psychedelic-leaning track, “Rollercoaster” integrates the rhythmic pulse of reggae with indie rock and Manila Sound sensibilities. It’s a buoyant, groove-forward song that veers away from the usual hit-making formula: carefree and laid-back, but brimming with summertime infectiousness. The song evokes an open-road journey: windows down, music turned up, and nowhere in particular to be. Its easygoing groove lends itself to late-night gatherings and spontaneous moments with friends, embracing the song’s themes of freedom, movement, and the thrill of letting go.

“Rollercoaster” serves as the second song released by IV OF SPADES this year following “Isang Pag-ibig” which dropped last month. The latter has racked up more than three million streams on combined platforms and has peaked at No. 18 on YouTube Music’s Trending Music charts. “Isang Pag-ibig” was originally posted to the band’s SoundCloud page in 2015 and was later on revisited for a 2026 re-release. IV OF SPADES’ “Rollercoaster” is out now on all digital music platforms worldwide via Sony Music Entertainment.
