Late last year, ride hailing service Grab launched its first on-demand commercial carpooling service called Grabshare in Singapore which aims to reduce the number of cars on the road and to improve the lives of its drivers. Following its success in the said country having 2 million rides, Grab is taking the new service and expand its operations to the Philippines.

With Grabshare, two passengers can be picked up using a single GrabCar fare. The service calculates the passengers' destinations and matches them together in such a way as to avoid long detours. Grabshare fares may be fixed, but they are 30 percent cheaper than GrabCar fares. The service also benefits drivers because they could earn more just by completing two bookings in one trip.

GrabShare is available whenever you book a ride on your smartphone or tablet PC. If you don't have the app yet, then it is downloadable on Google Play Store for Android devices and Apple App Store for iOS devices.
