The event presented by ABS-CBN Film Restoration Project in partnership with Ayala Malls Cinemas, which happens to be the second installment of the project following its successful first run last January at the UP Town Center, is part of an advocacy started by the leading media and entertainment company in the Philippines dubbed as "Sagip Pelikula" that aims to preserve the legacy of Philippine cinema through restoration of classic Filipino films and making them available to the general public via different platforms.
The exhibition formally opened with the digitally-restored premiere of the 90s hit drama flick "Hihintayin Kita Sa Langit" which was personally graced by its lead stars Richard Gomez and Dawn Zulueta. From there, moviegoers were treated to a plethora of digitally-restored classic local box-office hits such as Tanging Yaman, Anak, Oro Plata Mata, and One More Chance among others.
If you miss out of any of these restored films being screened during the exhibition, then you may have a chance to catch up because many of these digitally-remastered classics are currently available on either DVD, online via iWantv, or even on iTunes if you own an Apple mobile device. Heck, you may even watch them on television either on ABS-CBN, Cinema One, Jeepney TV or on the ABS-CBN TV Plus exclusive channel CineMo!.
