Ragnarok Online was first introduced to the Philippine gaming community when it was launched in the summer of 2003 and was widely regarded as the country's first MMORPG. The popularity of the game since its inception has influenced a massive following through the years and even paved way for an anime series and a manga. The game's Philippine servers were officiallly shut down in March 2015 after being unable to cope up with the rise of the genre even on mobile platforms.
To commemorate the return of what is known in Philippine gaming as the mother of all well-known MMOs in the local market, Ragnarok Online Philippines is inviting casual and hardcore gamers from different parts of the country to take part in the Ragna Festival to be held on May 7, 2017 at the SM City North EDSA Annex. Aside from having multiple bands and celebrities grace the event, gamers can expect surprises and announcements regarding the relaunch of the event.
