Filipino amateur DOTA 2 gamers will now have a chance to shine in the
professional gaming scene with the Philippine leg of the New Blood Championships,
a tournament that seeks to discover the new breed of e-sports players from
Asia.
The leg is slated to be held between August and September where the prize
pool of US$40,000 or nearly two million pesos and slots to an international pro
gaming tournament happening in Manila early next year at stake.
Developed by renouned Asian e-sports outlets Purpose Win Entertainment
Limited (PWEL) and Fallout Gaming, the NBC aims to further develop the professional
gaming industry in Southeast Asia which has grown rapidly becoming the second
largest e-sports market in the world today. The tournament is seeking to discover
players who will be the shining stars of the region who are set to make an
impact in the international scene in the near future.
As I have mentioned, the New Blood Championships is an avenue for
amateur players who want to start their journey as professional gamers. And for
TNC High Grounds Cafe which is said to be the venue of the Philippine leg, the NBC
is one of the many events where Filipino gamers can hone their skills which
will be used in future pro gaming tourneys happening in our local shores and
different parts of the world.
