TV5
is taking Philippine sports broadcasting to a whole new level as it officially announced
its long-term collaboration with ESPN, the global leader in sports programming,
which led to the introduction of a new brand that will ultimately serve
Filipino sports fans. Enter ESPN 5.
TV5's
newly-rebranded sports fan will provide more than 2,500 hours of content
straight from ESPN's lineup of sports properties, documentaries and studio
programs which include NFL, NCAA March Madness, the X Games, IndyCar Racing,
the 30 For 30 sports documentary series and classic boxing matches from its Big
Fights library while continuing to deliver the network's current portfolio of
local and international sporting events such as PBA, FIBA, Philippine Superliga
and UFC.
In
addition, ESPN and TV5 will join forces in producing a daily Philippine edition
of the iconic SportsCenter which is slated to begin on December 17, 2017
following the opening of the upcoming 2017-2018 PBA season. Both ESPN 5 and
SportsCenter Philippine edition will be exclusively aired on TV5 and Aksyon TV.
Furthermore, ESPN 5 is also extending its focus on the growing local e-sports
scene which could benefit and delight gaming fans and aficionados alike.
