Two
programs from ABS-CBN Corporation's finest youth-oriented channels Knowledge
Channel and YeY were honored for upholding and promoting quality and
value-oriented content for Filipino children and their families at the
conclusion of the first Sinebata children's video festival which is a prelude
to the 1st Southeast Asia Prix Jeunesse which will be held in Manila a few
weeks from now.
Knowledge
Channel's "Salam: Bagong Kaibigan" and YeY's flagship child-oriented show
Team YeY are chosen as two of the Philippines' top ten entries for the first
staging of the regional children's film fest. "Salam: Bagong Kaibigan",
which won the Fiction category for programs targeting ages 13-17 years old,
incorporates essential peace concepts and pertinent social issues with lessons
from World History. It uses everyday situations in a teenager's life and shows
how the youth play an important role in creating a peaceful and prosperous
society.
On
the other hand, Team YeY was hailed as the winner of the Non-Fiction category
for programs designed to cater children ages 3-7 years old. Topbilled by five
of ABS-CBN's finest young talents, Team YeY showcases creative and informative
activities for young viewers to enjoy such as dancing, storytelling, music,
sports and even cooking. Both Knowledge Channel and YeY are available as
exclusive channels of ABS-CBN TV Plus, the country's premier digital terrestrial
television service, as well as on Skycable, Destiny Cable and Skydirect nationwide.
