In celebration
of National Children's Month, ABS-CBN TV Plus' exclusive kids channel Yey is
giving the new generation of Filipino children a chance to know and enjoy that
their parents grow up watching through the showing of four digitally restored
and remastered children's movies on the channel's KidSine block on all Sundays
of November.
To
celebrate the launch of these new offerings, a special screening of the 1996 Star
Cinema movie "Cedie" was staged and held last November 5, 2017 at the
ABS-CBN Theater inside Kidzania Manila. Graced by the movie's original cast
(Tom Taus Jr., Ronaldo Valdez, Jaclyn Jose) and the hosts of Yey's
award-winning show Team Yey, the event formally reintroduced the digitally
restored movie to an audience of children who were beneficiaries of ABS-CBN
Lingkod Kapamilya Foundation's past efforts via its Tulong Center.
Aside
from "Cedie", families were also delighted with the small-screen
airing of "Sarah: Ang Munting Princesa" last November 12, 2017. Also
shown throughout the rest of the month are Magic Temple and Kokey. The
restoration of these movies are part of ABS-CBN Film Restoration's Sagip
Pelikula campaign which aims to preserve the legacy of Philippine cinema by
restoring classic Filipino films and making them available to the public via
various platforms.
