With a new identity and a wide television and online coverage delivered
by no less than ABS-CBN, the Premier Volleyball League has crafted a successful
debut season that has been enjoyed by local volleyball fans whether they are at
home, at mostly the San Juan Arena and even on-the-go via their computers and
mobile devices.
It may had a rough start which refers to the issue on the league's
imports due to their visa problems, but it has pushed through in the end with three
different teams as champions of their respective conferences - Balipure, Pocari
Sweat and National University. The PVL also staged its own men's volleyball
tilt with Cignal conquering its first two conferences and Ateneo championing
the Collegiate Conference.
The PVL gave their full support to the Philippine national women's
volleyball team in their endeavors in the international stage, especially in
the 19th AVC Asian Women's Seniors Championship. Its support was also extended
to Philippine women's volleyball phenom Alyssa Valdez in her stint in Thailand
and recently Chinese Taipei.
