Five of Warner's feature film releases have taken in more than US$500 million worldwide. These include Jordan Vogt-Roberts' action-adventure film Kong: Skull Island from Legendary Entertainment and Village Roadshow Pictures, Patty Jenkins' Wonder Woman starring Gal Gadot, Christopher Nolan's sweeping epic Dunkirk featuring an ensemble cast, Stephen King's IT from New Line Cinema, and its most recent blockbuster hit Justice League helmed by Zack Snyder which stands at more than US$574 million in box-office sales and still counting.
On the other hand, the milestone has included three more releases that have crossed the US$250 million box-office gross mark. These are The LEGO Batman Movie, Annabelle's Creation from New Line Cinema and Alcon Entertainment's dramatic action thriller Blade Runner 2049.
In making the announcement, Kroll stated that surpassing the five billion dollar mark in a single year can only happen with an incredible level of hardwork across all of Warner's theatrical divisions as well as the invaluable contributions of the filmmakers and actors that the studio has collaborated with and who made the success all possible.
