ABS-CBN Corporation, the premiere media and entertainment company in
the Philippines, has officially announced the appointment of award-winning
veteran film and TV director Olivia M. Lamasan as the new managing director of Star
Cinema (ABS-CBN Film Productions Inc.) following the retirement of Malou N.
Santos as chief operating officer of Star Creatives.
Prior to her appointment, Inang Olive as she is fondly called in the industry
took charge of Star Cinema's creative department and was behind some of the
most memorable and highest-grossing Filipino movies such as Madrasta, Milan,
Got To Believe, In The Name of Love, The Mistress, Starting Over Again and
Barcelona: A Love Untold.

As Inang Olive is set to take on challenges as the new head of the
leading film production firm in the country, Malou will serve as the company's
executive adviser and focus on foreign film productions and regional
co-productions. She will also be responsible for managing current and future Citymall
Cinemas under the helm of CineScreen, Inc. Prior to her new role, Malou Santos played
a big role behind Asia's longest-running drama anthology Maalaala Mo Maya and
world-class Filipino dramas like Pangako Sa 'Yo (The Promise), Princess and I,
Forevermore, The Legal Wife, Dolce Amore, Lobo, Imortal and La Luna Sangre.
With that in mind, it is undoubtedly assured that ABS-CBN will continue
to deliver quality and highly-entertaining content through all platforms available
with today's modern innovations and changing trends as its driving force.
