HOOQ, the first and the largest online entertainment service in Asia,
kicked off 2018 with the release of its first exclusive original series straight
from Hollywood - the gripping police drama The Oath. A few weeks or months
later, HOOQ is proud to introduce its second HOOQ Originals offering from Sony
Pictures Television but this time it will be a light-hearted detective
procedural that blends the charm and peacefulness of a small, wonderful town with
big-city crime.
Premiered last April 6, 2018 with new episodes to be available on the
service every Friday, Carter tells the story of a detective on a hit American
TV series named Harley Carter (Jerry O'Connell) who is forced to return to his
sleepy hometown after an embarrassing public meltdown in Hollywood. Upon his
return, Carter taps into his acting experience to become a real-life detective
with his two bestfriends, Sam Shaw (Sydney Poitier Heartsong) and Dave Leigh
(Kristian Bruun), as his partners.
Every episode will be a self-contained crime story which not only
delivers different mysteries happening in town including the occasional murders,
but features fun and quirky characters. Carter is slated to be a story that
revolves around true friendship as the series' protagonist returns to his hometown
and faces all the people in his past who have taken different paths in their lives
but will remain the best of friends. With these in mind, Carter will absolutely
be an interesting detective drama for binge-watchers to enjoy on their
computers and mobile devices with a hinge of comedy on the side to boot.
Aside from Carter, HOOQ continues to beef up its library of content
with a fresh lineup of movies and TV shows that are sure to cater its subscribers
throughout the year. One case in point is Krypton, the latest addition to its
sleuth of DC Superheroes series. Premiered last March 29, 2018 with its first
two episodes, Krypton is a new series that will take place about 200 years
before Superman came to Earth. New episodes will be out on HOOQ every Friday
within 24 hours of its US telecast.
