There are many things that has not only intrigued me but also
eventually gained my interest at the beginning of the month of May including a
whole sleuth of Nintendo Switch games to be released within the month and the
last stand of some of the finest publications in the country today before bidding
hello to a new era. However, I want to share some of them that could gain your
own interest as well for the right reasons. At least they are practically
uncommon to begin with.
First is the impending launch of a new English-language Philippine pay
TV channel that is set to rival the standards set by another of its kind that continues
to gain traction especially among local business communities and its elite. Now
the name One News may not be satisfying to any news junkie's taste prior to its
maiden airing which would probably be after the summer season, but it is
fitting enough to say that they should not underestimate the new source of news
and information since it will complement News5's own expertise in news reporting
and broadcast journalism with some of the finest in the industry such as Probe
Productions and Bloomberg among others. With such in mind and detail to the
best of my knowledge, it will be delightful for One News to be one channel to
be reckoned with. Sadly, not all pay TV subscribers in the Philippines will not
have it.
Then there is the anticipated movie Citizen Jake starring award-winning
broadcast journalist Atom Araullo and directed by acclaimed local filmmaker
Mike De Leon. In case you don't know about the movie, it revolves around the
son of a rich and powerful senator who wants to prove to everyone and himself
that he is not like his father by living a peaceful life in Baguio as a college
teacher. However, the murder of one of his students would push him to face his
own problems and adversaries while trying to solve the case. The movie did have
a fair share of positive reception and criticism from different parties while
trying to find a proper time for it to be released. Now, Filipino movie buffs will
have the chance to discover Jake's story and struggles and they should thank
Solar Pictures for making it possible.
Finally is the opening of a unique one-stop shop that offers
cutting-edge and engaging digital solutions for the home and mobile courtesy of
PLDT and Smart Communications. In fact, the first of its kind is made to cater
customers who are interested in the products and services of probably some of

experienced staff who will helpful in one's inquiries.
