Sony's PlayStation 4 remains one of the best gaming systems in the
world so far due to its overwhelming hardware and software sales as well as its
strong lineup of engaging and entertaining titles, but there has been an
undisclosed number of rumors speculating that the PS4 is going towards the end
of its lifecycle which has been a bit daunting for those who are enjoying their
own gaming experience on the PS4 in their own homes. But, those who are
concerned about the system's fate may not need to worry.
Sony Interactive Entertainment officials led by its CEO John Kodera have
assured that the company will continue to support the PlayStation 4 towards the
end of its lifecycle for at least three years or so. Why? Well, according to
reports, SIE is taking advantage of these next three years in preparation for
its upcoming plans and developments in the near future including the impending
rise of a system that would probably be deemed as a PS5 by critics.
Three more years for the PlayStation 4 is not a bad problem for even
those who are doubtful if they can purchase the system or not, but I don't
literally blame them if they are not ready to buy a PS4. Besides, it is delightful
for me to learn and understand that the console's strong support system would
consist of several different factors. These include constant system updates and
improvements, a wide sleuth of downloadable content available and the strong
traction of the PlayStation VR considering that it is one aside from the Oculus
Rift and HTC Vive that introduce virtual reality to the gaming masses.
