The recent opening of the first PlayStation specialized store in the Philippines and the role of social media in the strong resiliency of popular video game stores in the country such as Datablitz and Game One PH prove that there are Filipino gamers who want to get to the gaming or toy store situated in their area and see if their favorite games can be availed through their hard-earned cash despite the fact that more are starting to consider online shopping as a more convenient option, but there is a catch.

Nowadays it is assuming for us to believe that game-savvy consumers do not use their pockets or wallets to get their own dose of gaming goodness. Instead, they use their smartphones just to satisfy their own pleasure in the comforts of their own home. More consumers are now using their own smartphones as their own daily on-the-go companion - from communicating with their friends and family via text and call functions to playing their favorite mobile games, browsing the World Wide Web, listening to music, watching videos and even performing cashless transactions on where they are allowed.

Many consumers should question themselves on how it is possible for video game stores to allow consumers to purchase their favorite gaming hardware, software and accessories using only their smartphones. Well, the answer is pretty much simple. Those with their smartphones literally have their own mobile wallets where part of their earnings are being stored without any worries while video game stores are starting to embrace new innovations for the benefit of their customers through the likes of QR Scan-to-Pay technology for cashless transactions and debit/credit card readers equipped on POS machines if they want to use their own cash or credit card for their purchases.

What about games that are not available in gaming shops but can be purchases online? Mobile wallets have a dedicated debit/credit card number which can be used for consumers to have a secured online transaction. Furthermore, they have an intriguing system that allow consumers to perform transactions on online shopping sites without the need to bypass restrictions. One case in point is GCash's American Express Virtual Pay where users can even purchase their stuff in online stores where they accept American Express cards. With these in mind, that pretty much sums up how one can get his or her own choice of games the cashless way.

Nevertheless, it is up to you where you want to get what you need for your own gaming experience as long as they suit your own pleasure wherever they are available and even embrace new ways to make your purchases more convenient and secured on your own terms.
