I
was not really in a surprising mood when I first learned from social media and legitimate
local news sources that an American-based globally-renouned burger joint named
Shake Shack is set to open its branch in the Philippines next year, but what
makes me literally surprised about it is that many Filipino foodies are
somewhat ecstatic about its impending arrival in our local shores. It feels
like they are anticipating its arrival more than just other usual food stands
that come and go and I would wonder what makes them feel a somewhat
extraordinary love for Shake Shack.
Well,
let's begin with what I've learned about the said joint. The Philippines will
be the latest addition of the many countries that have a Shake Shack branch or
two and it will be brought to our local shores by no less than Stores
Specialists Inc. (SSI), the premiere exclusive Philippine distributor of renouned
retail and fashion brands from around the world, in celebration of its 30th
anniversary. It is highly intriguing for any of us to believe that a company
like SSI would manage such a well-known food stand considering that both
companies have already sealed the deal.
What
can Filipino foodies expect from Shake Shack once it opened its first branch in
an undisclosed and unconfirmed location, more particularly within the Metro? I could
assume that there are Filipinos including those in the millennial generation
who have traveled to any part of the country, especially in the United States,
and tried any of Shake Shack's best offers. For your information, Shake Shack
was once a food cart outside the world famous Madison Square Garden before it
opened its branches around America and eventually all over the world which sums
up its history.
Those
who are delighted to embrace Shake Shack in our local shores may expect the
Philippine branch to offer the joint's finest offers which include Angus beef burgers,
chicken sandwiches, Vienna beef dogs, crinkle-cut French fries, craft wine and
beer, and soft-serve custard ice cream to boot. If you want to savor something
new and more unique than what you have craved for in your life, then Shake Shack
may be the best place for you to try out even if you're in a hurry after a hard
day's work.
