The
heart-wrenching yet hopeful ballad "Sa Mga Bituin Na Lang Ibubulong"
composed by Kyle Raphael Borbon of Davao City was hailed as the best song of
ABS-CBN and Star Music's Himig Handog 2018: Love Songs and Love Stories. The
love song, interpreted by JM De Guzman and performed onstage by Jason Dy at the
grand finals held last November 18, 2018 live at ASAP, bested more than 5,000
submitted entries from in and out of the country and won the highly coveted
Php1 million cash prize.
During
the songwriting competition's post-press conference, the songwriter who wrote
the winning song based on his personal experience admitted that it is his first
time joining any kind of competition. He began doing YouTube covers two years
ago and started writing songs last year. His passion for music and the
overwhelming reception of his own songs being posted on YouTube have gained
Kyle enough confidence to join the competition. True enough, it is all worth what
he has done.
Anyway,
