A few
weeks ago, Alcatel Mobile Philippines has announced its return in the local market
and promised to introduce a new batch of mobile devices that can cater the evolving
demands of Filipino consumers. True enough, it did just that with six affordable
and accessible feature-rich smartphones that will enable them to maximize and enjoy
the experience of "now" and are well-designed to become companions in
making more spontaneous and ever-changing joyful moments in their lives today.
Alcatel
Mobile Philippines country manager Rudolph Santos believed that these six new
phones show a strong testament of not only its commitment of making great
mobile technology accessible to everyone, but also its goal of making people
happy with innovation playing a big role in producing and enhancing joyful moments
for everyone to cherish. Without further ado, I give to you the Alcatel Android
Phones for 2018.
Alcatel 1 (Php3,990) and 1X
(Php4,990): For The Practical "Juan"
Filipinos
are always big on social media, and it is rare for anyone to see one without at
least a Facebook or Twitter account. They enjoy sharing photos on social media,
streaming videos and playing games and the Alcatel 1 and 1X can deliver these
simple daily modern joys without breaking the bank with features that are hard
to find for an entry-level smartphone.
For
starters, these are the first smartphones to sport an 18:9 aspect ratio which
fits the palm of one's hand perfectly and priced in the sub-Php5,000 range with
the 1X being given a more distinct texture. They also have 13 megapixel front
and 18 megapixel front cameras with flash and interpolated with each other as
well as a suite of intuitive photo editing tools (Instant Collage, Photo Booth
and Social Square) that are capable of producing high-quality photos and
videos.
Running
on a Mediatek MT6739 processor, the 1 and 1X run on the latest Android Oreo Go
OS which gives users more freedom to do more on their devices' built-in storage
without any worries. These two can be considered the perfect introduction to
one's mobile lifestyle today.
Alcatel 5V (Php9,990):
Premium Features At An Affordable Price
In
any case, the Alcatel 5V is considered the flagship among the six new smartphones
considering that it is packed with an impressive bevy of features that can be
at par with any other flagship mobile device but those who have owned this
would not think that it is more affordable than a typical midrange device from
a premium mobile brand.
The
Alcatel 5V sports a 6.2-inch 19:9 infinite full view display protected by 2.5D
Dragontrail glass, an octa core processor with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of
expandable storage and 4000 mAh battery. Aside from these specs that make up a
premium powerhouse, the 5V also boasts of pro-level photography powered by
artificial intelligence (AI) as it comes with dual rear cameras imbued with
depth of field, refocus, real-time Bokeh, face beauty and real-time scenes
detection that makes capturing moments more soothing and vibrant to one's eye.
Furthermore,
the 5V also comes with an intuitive face recognition and a fingerprint sensor
for better security. Completing its premium feature package is a smart
on-demand object recognition powered by none other than Google Lens.
Alcatel 5 (Php8,490): The
Selfie Connoisseur
If
you are among those who love to take selfies and even groupies with your
friends and loved ones and want a companion that can complement you in your literal
selfie journey, then the Alcatel 5 is the right one for you. Its most
interesting feature is its 13 megapixel + 5 megapixel SmartSelfie Dual Cams
that are designed to up the game in producing intimate portraits, group shots
and even your own idealistic selfies. Heck, it also has a 120-degree wide angle
lens and low-light performance that is essential for taking photos in the
moddiest lighting conditions. Sprinkle it with a 5.7-inch bezel-less display
and a fingerprint sensor and you have a very interesting selfie companion to
handle.
Alcatel U3 (Php2,690): The
Perfect First Phone
Anyone
who wants to have a more affordable smartphone that is perfectly good enough to
start their own digital life can consider trying out the Alcatel U3 because of
its so-called "simple mode" that allows easier navigation on Android
6.0 Marshmallow OS. It also sports a 5 megapixel (interpolated to 8 MP) rear camera
with LED flash, 2 megapixel front camera, 1500 mAh battery, 3G HSPA+ connectivity
and a 4-inch 800x480 display and is powered by a 1.3 GHz Mediatek quad core
processor coupled with 512 MB of RAM and 8 GB of expandable on-board storage. Designed
for first-time smartphone users, this could also make a great first smartphone
for kids.
Alcatel 3026 (Php2,490): For
The Young At Heart
The
last but not the least of Alcatel's newest batch of smartphones for the
Philippine market is not actually a smartphone at all but don't let the Alcatel
3026 feature phone fool you since it has its own intriguing features that are
enjoyable and intuitive for anyone to use especially your grandparents. These
include a 2.8-inch screen, an ergonomic keyboard with large buttons that can
make typing a lot easier, 2 megapixel rear camera that can be interpolated to
3.2 megapixels, Bluetooth 2.1 and 3G HSPA+ connectivity, and a microSD card
slot that provides enough space for unlimited entertainment.
Another
good thing about the 3026 is that it is, in fact, a classic flip phone that can
incorporate a bit of nostalgia on what you do it. For senior citizens, a great
essential feature to use on the 3026 is its hearing aid compatibility and SOS
feature where they can get in touch with their loved ones with just a touch of
a button. Oh, and the phone comes with an easy dock for a more convenient
charging that can satisfy seniors.
