Resident Evil 2, the second installment of Capcom's well-loved survival horror gaming franchise, was one of the most successful games when it was first released for the original PlayStation console in 1998 with over four or five million copies of the game sold during its time. As today's generation of video game systems remain keen in providing a unique kind of innovation and entertainment to young and old gamers alike, the Japanese-based renouned game developer feels that it is time for one of its highly successful games to be reborn for a new generation of gaming and pop culture fanatics.

Thanks to a surprisingly overwhelming surge of public demand from different game communities, Capcom is bringing a piece of gaming history and take one of the most horrifically action-packed stories of its time to a new gaming audience and that would be the highly-anticipated release of Resident Evil 2 for the Sony PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Slated to kick off the new year, the new Resident Evil 2 offers what makes it a rousing success during its time but it will be more different than what would anyone expect.

For starters, Resident Evil 2 will be powered by no less than the highly-intriguing RE Proprietary Engine which was first used in the development of Resident Evil 7. With such an engine intact, those who want to try out the new RE2 should be awed at better graphics, more complex characters, impressively stunning gaming environments, more compelling gameplay mechanics and more that you would probably think of. Aside from the engine, the original storyline and plot of RE2 will be literally reimagined from the ground up as well as almost everything that makes the game more ecstatic for anyone to indulge with.

Anyone who wants to feel the nostalgia and try out Resident Evil 2 like anything else, then go ahead and pre-order their copy at gaming stores where it is set to become available. The new Resident Evil 2 will be available in two variants: the Standard Edition and the Collector's Edition which comes with freebies and free DLC packs on board. If you're willing to wait for RE2 to hit the gaming shelves for your pleasure, then remember the date of its official worldwide release: 01.25.2019.
