PC brand Lenovo has officially announced that its Legion of Champions Series
III has already commenced with twelve teams from 11 engaging markets in the
Asia Pacific region, including the Philippines, competing for glory and vying for
the right to Asia's gaming crown. In partnership with Intel, the third edition
of one of Asia's biggest eSports tournaments is bringing together 60 gaming
talents from Japan, Korea, India, Hong Kong/Macau, Philippines, Indonesia,
Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam in a highly intense series of
gruelling challenges where they seek to become the LoC Series III Grand
Champion.
After
a bevy of multiple elimination rounds in the local level, the in-market winners
will gather at the Central Plaza Ladprao in Bangkok, Thailand on January 25-27,
2019 for a more intense and action-packed international showdown. Representing
the Philippines in the LoC Grand Finals is ArkAngel composed of Cedric
"Ivalice" Santos, Nickelson "Nickstah" Yanga, Robert Dan
"Trebor" Mansilungan, Keefe Jyro "Zensho" Pascual and Christopher
Raul "Jaux" Pamintuan. The group topped a gruelling five-round
elimination tournament which was participated by 98 teams from different parts
of the country.
ArkAngel,
along with other professional gaming teams from all across the Asia Pacific
region, is slated to compete for pride and glory and take the biggest share of what
is probably the highest prize pool in the competition which is US$35,000 or approximately
Php1.9 million. At the end of the Grand Finals, the champion will take home the
grand cash prize of US$7,000 and US$5,000 worth of Lenovo Legion Y530 notebook
PCs while the first and second runners-up will win US$3,000 and US$2,000,
respectively.
