An
exciting and action-packed 2019 is brewing on the horizon for Philippine
Superliga as the new standard of Philippine volleyball is looking forward to
offer a taste of volleyball action to its viewers and supporters through a
series of activities and tournaments all year round. On the other hand, PSL is
also setting its sights on pledging its continued support to the national team
that is slated to compete in various international competitions scheduled to
take place throughout the year.
And
what better way for the Superliga to kick off the new year and the new season
is to do a fan interaction right before the action starting off with a
traditional Fans' Day where fans can have the opportunity to meet and greet
some of their favorite volleybelles for one day only. This will be followed by
a series of out-of-town sorties highlighted by exhibition matches and
volleyball clinics across different parts of the country on January 19-30.
With
fan interaction said and done, the real fun begins as the Superliga is
literally beginning to fire out all sorts of hostilities with the import-flavored
Grand Prix on February 9, followed by an intriguing summer spectacle that is
the Beach Volleyball Challenge Cup (May 23-26). The league will then join in on
the opening of the new school year with the All-Filipino Conference (June
15-August 24) and eventually making semestral breaks more enjoyable with the
Invitational Conference (October 5-November 16). Finally, let's end the season
with the holiday edition of the Beach Volleyball Challenge Cup on December.
As
being true to its commitment for a national cause, the PSL will give way to the
Philippine national team's participation in the following upcoming tournaments,
namely: the Asian Women's Club Championship in China (April 20-28), the Asian
Women's U-23 Volleyball Championship in Vietnam (July 13-21), Asian Senior
Women's Volleyball Championship (August 31-September 8), and the 2019 Southeast
Asian Games to be held in the Philippines (November 30-December 10).
League
chairman Philip Ella Juico stated that the 2019 calendar will reflect on coming
up with high-level volleyball action. If any of you asks about the new season
of the Collegiate Conference, it all depends on several factors and not just by
the success of its first one alone. ESPN5, the league's official broadcast
partner, and Larong Volleyball ng Pilipinas, Inc. (LVPI) are pledging their
continued support and commitment on the league's new season so Philippine
volleyball fans can expect more grit and excitement when the new season of the
Philippine Superliga begins on February.
