ABS-CBN Corporation, the premiere media and entertainment company in
the Philippines, have triumphed at the 50th GMMSF Box Office Entertainment Awards earning
recognitions for its films, programs, artists and personalities in more than half
of its total awards categories. Leading the pack of big wins for the network is
the 2018 box office phenomenon The Hows of Us and some of the hottest and most
popular Kapamilya love teams today including JaDine (James Reid and Nadine
Lustre), MayWard (Maymay Entrata and Edward Barber) and Joshlia (Joshua Garcia
and Julia Barretto) among others.
The Hows of Us, which is available on ABS-CBN's online streaming
service iWant via PPV starting April 12, 2019, was being given the Golden Jury Award
for being the Highest Grossing Filipino Film of All Time after earning Php668
million worldwide while its lead stars Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla were
hailed among the Phenomenal Stars of Philippine Cinema awardees this year
alongside Fantastica main stars Vice Ganda, Richard Gutierrez and Dingdong
Dantes. Meanwhile, the much talked about primetime drama series Halik was a big
winner in the television category for the exemplary acting prowess of its main
stars that has literally drawn more Filipino viewers in a surprisingly impactful
manner.
On the other hand, industry veteran Eddie Garcia led various winners in
several special awards winning a Golden Jury Award for All Time Favorite Actor
while actress and It's Showtime TV Host Anne Curtis received the Golden Jury
Award for Excellence as Millennial Entertainer. Also earning a nod were DZMM
Radyo Patrol 630 and DZMM Teleradyo anchors Anthony Taberna and Gerry Baja who have
won the Public Service Award for "Dos Por Dos".
