ABS-CBN's slate of hit blockbuster films will soon make their way to
the world's largest and most populated country for the first time as the
premiere media and entertainment company in the Philippines successfully inked
and forged a milestone deal with Phoenix Satellite Television, a leading
entertainment group that aims to provide high quality content to Chinese audiences.
Sixteen titles, mostly from ABS-CBN's flagship film production arm Star
Cinema, are set to premiere on September 2019 on the Phoenix Movie Channel and
will be headlined by the 2016 local box office hit Barcelona: A Love Untold
starring Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo. Included in the lineup that will
soon be seen on the said channel are drama and romcom flicks that are also well
recognized overseas given their international theatrical and OTT releases such
as Everything About Her, Four Sisters And A Wedding, My Ex and Whys, You're My
Boss and Can't Help Falling In Love.
Phoenix and ABS-CBN are also bringing to China more memorable romantic comedy
flicks that have made their own mark in the Filipino pop culture scene for
their relevant themes. These include Love You To The Stars And Back, Dear Other
Self, My Perfect You, To Love Some Buddy, Can We Still Be Friends, Always Be My
Maybe, The Achy Breaky Hearts and First Love. Completing the list of Filipino films
that will be shown on Chinese television in the coming months are the digitally
restored versions of "Kasal" and "Hihintayin Kita Sa
Langit".
