Prior to the upcoming 82nd season of the University Athletic
Association of the Philippines (UAAP) which is slated to begin on September,
the University of the Philippines (UP) Fighting Maroons continues to gain
valuable support from various renouned local brands and the most recent is no less
than the country's premiere digital payments service Paymaya.
The UP Fighting Maroons gained immense popularity after a stellar
performance in the previous UAAP season which took them to their first Finals
appearance in a long time. Iskos and iskas all over the country as well as many
Filipino basketball fans and enthusiasts have cheered for what is considered as
a perennial underdog in the popular collegiate basketball tournament.
As the Fighting Maroons prepare for the start of the upcoming collegiate
basketball season, Paymaya is extending its support to the league's most
anticipated team today by providing UP's student-athletes the digital way to
spend their allowances using their smartphone and their Paymaya account. With
Paymaya on hand, players can now be able to kickstart their own cashless living
which allows them to use their money in a secured and more convenient way so
that they can focus more on their daily training without any hindrances to
worry about.
During the launch of the newly-forged partnership, the players of the
UP Men's Basketball Team were able to receive their own Paymaya cards which is
linked to the Paymaya app on their smartphones so that they can get the most
out of their cashless experience. Of course, the UP community led by University
President Danilo Concepcion and even UP Men's Basketball Team Coach Bo Perasol have
welcomed the development and are thankful for Paymaya's faith and trust which
would give its players the much-needed boost in stepping up their game for the forthcoming
season.
UP student-athletes will soon use Paymaya to easily shop online and in
their favorite establishments, send and receive money to and from their loved
ones, pay bills, buy discounted prepaid load and gaming pins and much more in the
coming months.
