Korean fever has definitely reached ABS-CBN's longest-running and
top-rating noontime variety show It's Showtime as one of its hosts Ryan Bang
literally found his match during the KapareWHO Surprise segment on its July 19,
2019 episode. During the segment, the show's main hosts Vice Ganda, Vhong Navarro
and Jhong Hilario hyped up the laughter by poking Ryan that he will be replaced
by 'Samgyup-Sal', one of the potential WHOmahanap contestants who are Koreans
with a Filipino heart. The episode quickly became a top trending topic on social
media both nationwide and worldwide and it was much talked about all throughout
the day.
'Samgyup-Sal', whose real name is Jinho Bae, would later return as a guest
host for the KapareWHO segment in the show's July 22nd episode which apparently
became a top trending topic on social media more particularly on Twitter with
#SaveRyanBang and Samgyup-Sal's real name being among the top worldwide trends
in a vast amount of time. KapareWHO is a consistently trending compatibility
game segment featuring single and widowed people searching for companionship.
They choose from three different potential contestants based on looks, talent
and personality. Since its inception last summer, the segment has featured the
likes of Jeric Raval, Wowie De Guzman, Mon Confiado and most recently Batangas
vice-governor Mark Leviste being chosen as companions of the featured ladies.

Philippine television network TV5 and Cignal TV, the country's leading
pay TV provider, are now the official broadcast partners of the 2019 Southeast
Asian Games which will take place in the Philippines from November 28 to
December 12, 2019. It was officially announced by the Philippine SEA Games Organizing
Committee (PHISGOC) during the Broadcast and Media Conference held last July 23,
2019.
TV5 and Cignal TV president and CEO Jane Basas and PHISGOC chairman
House Speaker Rep. Alan Peter Cayetano led the two parties in sealing the deal
through the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement. For PHISGOC executive
director Ramon "Tats" Suzara, it is natural for the organizers to choose
the likes of TV5 and Cignal that will tell the story of the athletes who will
bring honor and pride to their nation and not just the course of the competition
considering that TV5 continues its dedication and commitment to Philippine
sports and brings professional gaming to a wider national audience as the
pioneers of local eSports broadcasting.
As announced on the 2019 SEA Games Broadcast and Media Conference, TV5
and Cignal will be responsible for the television broadcast of 11 sporting events
throughout the regional meet which include basketball, volleyball and eSports.
The other sporting events that won't have television exposure in the
Philippines are slated to become available via live streaming while highlights
for these aforementioned events will be presented.
