More than eight million Filipino digital television households will now have access to relevant and important information on their television sets such as news advisories, disaster alerts, traffic updates, weather bulletins, and even job openings without the need for a fast and strong home internet connection as ABS-CBN TV Plus, the premiere digital terrestrial television service in the Philippines, launched and introduced an updated version of its datacasting feature now dubbed INFOPlus.

Prior to the successful Metro Manila Shake Drill 2019 that took place in the early morning of July 27th, ABS-CBN TV Plus partnered with PAGASA (Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration), NDRRMC (National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council) and MMDA (Metro Manila Development Authority) to provide users with real-time updates on weather, disaster and traffic. On the other hand, ABS-CBN News is slated to inform viewers of essential advisories such as announcements of work and class suspensions and prices of commodities while CineMo's Trabahanap delivers the latest job postings that are open.

Filipino households can access all of these information for free without any worries of having an internet connection. All they need to do is to press the red button on their ABS-CBN TV Plus remote. Aside from the essential information, users can also check the latest TV Plus updates as well as the weekly KBO (Kapamilya Box Office) schedule. INFOPlus is the latest addition to ABS-CBN TV Plus' interesting exclusive features which included its built-in Emergency Warning Broadcast System (EWBS) that delivers safety alerts and tips on how to stay safe when disasters like an earthquake strike.

"Digital TV is not just about providing clear signal reception. For ABS-CBN TV Plus, it is also about making our users informed with important and helpful information without additional costs," ABS-CBN Head of Access Charles Lim said during the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing ceremony between ABS-CBN and the government agencies. With eight million boxes sold across sixteen coverage areas nationwide, ABS-CBN TV Plus is the first service to provide clearer signal reception and exclusive channels to Filipino households for a more enjoyable television viewing experience.
