If you have been strolling or malling around SM City Batangas between
July 22nd and 26th, then you should feel curious at an interesting art exhibit
taken place near SM Supermarket at the ground floor and eventually be awed and
marveled at the delightful splendor of artistry made by Batangueño artists. Yes,
I said it right. In fact, all forty of what you may have seen there were no
less than intriguingly spectacular artworks with most of them made possible by students
from various schools across the province.
The exhibit was actually part of Batangas Provincial Tourism and Cultural
Affairs Office's celebration of Lakbay Sining 2019 and it is, to be honest, the
event's culminating activity where some of the works were honored and recognized
on its first day. It consists of 39 landscape artworks measuring 2x3 feet in
size from professional and student entries as well as five pieces of art on
felt paper made by students from different towns who have won in the On-The-Spot
Painting Contest. Aside from these artworks, headlining the Lakbay Sining 2019
art exhibit is a stunningly fashionable creation from renouned Batangueño couture
designer Adam Balasa made from the loving hands of Ibaan weavers.
Anyway, here are the list of winners in the On-The-Spot Painting Contest

Of course, the exhibit allowed spectators to cast their votes on which
of the artworks showcased is their favorite but I'm not certain which of the
winners was a literal crowd favorite. It was a truly delightful showcase to reap
considering that these homegrown pieces of art depict what every town in the province
of Batangas and its people is all about especially what is known for that can be
found there. With these in mind, I applaud the Visual Arts Sector of the
Batangas Culture and Arts Council for a successful art exhibit and am hopeful
that we can see more of these amazing spectacles once next year's Lakbay Sining
will take place inside one that is close to my heart. For more updates and details

Office.
