Have you been in the province of Batangas within most of 2019? Were you
able to capture many memorable, unforgettable and enjoyable moments while in
your preferred destinations across the province? Do you want your captured
moments to be recognized even though you are not a professional photographer to
begin with? If you answer yes to these questions, then you may have a chance to
make these moments a winner and be hailed by no less than the provincial
government of Batangas in the Rich Batangas Photo Contest.
With the theme "Rich Batangas: Fun, Food, Faith", the
Batangas Provincial Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office is inviting and
encouraging photography-loving enthusiasts living in any part of the
Philippines aged 13 years old and above to submit up to three of the photos they
have taken during their stay in the province with different subjects and/or
locations. Since there are lots to be discovered and eventually rediscovered in
the province, the photos must feature any natural or man-made site, scenery or
attraction and local delicacies found in the province and be provided with
relevant information about them through constant research and interaction with
the locals.
The photos should be taken in any area within the province through the
use of any type of camera from January 1, 2018 to August 18, 2019. (NOTE: Remember
to set the camera's date properly for proof of date on digital file meta tags
and refrain from putting the date overlay on the photo.) If you have used a
smartphone to capture photos of what you have seen in the province, it's better
to share them on social media since the contest rejects these kinds of photos. Participants
are allowed to make minor edits to these photos which includes brightness and
contrast, black and white, burning, cropping and dodging but are warned not to
oversaturate them using third-party filters; otherwise, they are disqualified.
Furthermore, these must be printed in 8 x 12 inch glossy photo paper without
borders.
Accomplish the official Rich Batangas Photo Contest entry form which
can be found, saved and printed on the official Facebook page of the Batangas
Provincial Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office and provide a soft copy of your
entries and their raw or unedited format on a DVD. (NOTE: The following must be
used in naming the files: Last_Name,First_Name-Entry(1,2,3).jpg and Last_Name,First_Name-Entry(1,2,3)-unedited.jpg.)
Submit the printed entries, the entry form and DVD placed in a long brown envelope
(1 Photographer = 1 Envelope) to the Batangas Provincial Tourism and Cultural
Affairs Office, Batangas Provincial Capitol, Batangas City, Philippines 4200 on
or before September 19, 2019. No entry or registration fee is required to take
part in the contest.
The photos will be posted on the official Facebook page of the Batangas
Provincial Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office on September 20, 2019 where the
public can vote for their favorite photos from then until midnight of September
26, 2019. The top 3 photos and the People's Choice Award in the student and
professional categories will be publicly announced on September 30, 2019 at the
Batangas Provincial Capitol Grounds during the traditional flag raising ceremony
where the winners will receive undisclosed cash prizes. On the other hand, the
non-winning entries will be used by the provincial government for tourism
promotion purposes in the foreseeable future. For more information on Rich
