PLDT-Smart Omega proved to be an unstoppable force to be reckoned with
as it emerged as the first champion of The Nationals Mobile Legends Bang Bang
Conference 1 which was held last July 28, 2019 at Eastwood City, Libis, Quezon
City. Formed in partnership with Sterling Global Dragons, Omega represents the
largest and most trusted telecommunications companies in the Philippines in the
country's first franchise-based professional gaming league.
Omega's Mobile Legends team comprises of the country's youngest and
most talented eSports athletes which include Dexter "Exort" Martinez
(22), the country's top Kadita and Harith user; Adrian "Toshi"
Bacallo (18), a renouned marksman; EJ "Heath" Esperanza (23), the
best minotaur and Lolita user in the country; Dennis "Ynot" Senedrin
(31), one of the pioneers of Philippine eSports whose career started in 2008;
Kenneth "Kenji" Villa (21), a top fighter user and offlaner; Paul
"Kingpin" Rabandadan (23), a rising mage player; and team captain and
veteran tank player Jay "Crypzu" Villanueva (25). These amazing
players have literally swept its competition, the Cignal Ultra Warriors, in the
best-of-five finals which gave Omega the glory all throughout the conference.
In the finals of The Nationals MLBB Conference One, Omega gave Cignal
no chance to strike back even until the very last moment with a stunning play
that saw the champions bring Lord into Cignal's base through the bottom lane, protecting
the giant boss minion well with great teamwork as it took down the enemy
inhibitor. The surprise attack sealed the finals and championship win for Omega
at a relatively early 11 minutes into the third game. With this in mind,
PLDT-Smart Omega took home the Php500,000 grand cash prize while 1st runner-up
Cignal Ultra bagged Php250,000. On the other hand, 2nd runner-up team Bren eSports
was able to secure a podium finish in the conference taking home Php150,000 in
the process.
PLDT-Smart Omega is set to prepare for The Nationals Mobile Legends
Bang Bang Conference 2 which will begin on November. For now, the first
conference of The Nationals Tekken 7's maiden season is taking place with JSSN
and Jules representing Omega. The team's journey to glory is sure to be backed
by two telecommunications companies with the widest and strongest nationwide
