Our
national athletes are starting to showcase the courage, excellence and fighting
pride of the Filipino in their 2019 Southeast Asian Games campaign and ABS-CBN
Sports, the sports arm of the premiere media and entertainment company in the
Philippines, is bringing their stories at the forefront with its own multiplatform
coverage of the prestigious regional multisport competition as one of the
event's official broadcasters in the country.
Filipinos
all over the nation can watch and cheer for their athletes throughout the
duration of the event on their television sets, PCs and smartphones with matches
in popular sports such as volleyball and football to be aired exclusively
either live or at delayed basis on free TV via S+A, cable via LIGA (Skycable channel
83, SkyDirect channel 14) and online live streaming via iWant and sports.abs-cbn.com. These games will be broadcast
in high definition on S+A HD (Skycable channel 166, SkyDirect channel 23) and
LIGA HD (Skycable channel 183).
ABS-CBN
Sports' coverage of the 2019 SEA Games football competition kicked off last
November 25, Monday, with the first match of the Philippine national men's football
team. On the other hand, the men's and women's volleyball games are slated to
begin on December 2 and 3, respectively. Headlining the teams representing the
Philippines are local sports heroes such as Marck Espejo and Bryan Bagunas for men's
volleyball and Alyssa Valdez and Aby Marano from the women's national team. Apart
from football and volleyball, ABS-CBN Sports will also show highlights of other
SEA Games events such as swimming, gymnastics, and track and field as well as
performances of gold medal-winning athletes on S+A until December 11th. These
will be featured in "The Score: Galing Natin 'To", a special edition
of S+A's flagship daily sports program which will be aired on December 1-11 at
9 am and 8 pm. Host Mico Halili will be providing updates on the events, medal
tally standings, and interviews with athletes, sports analysts and other sports
personalities.
Early
this year, ABS-CBN launched the National Cheer Campaign which aims to celebrate
Filipino greatness and to encourage Filipinos to unite and bring honor to the
country. The campaign's anthem, #GalingNatinIto sung by more than 20 OPM
artists, will be featured in ABS-CBN Sports' multiplatform coverage of the 2019
SEA Games. For sports news and the full schedule of ABS-CBN Sports' 2019 SEA Games
