While
thousands of Filipinos packed the world-famous Philippine Arena to show their
support for the national athletes in the opening ceremony of the 2019 Southeast
Asian Games last November 30, 2019, more Filipinos were able to watch the live
telecast of the event on ABS-CBN making the spectacle the most watched program
of the entire weekend.
With
dazzling performances of Filipino cultural dances, world-class production numbers
and appearances of legendary athletes, the Philippines 2019: 30th SEA Games Opening
Ceremony registered a national TV rating of 29.2% based on data from Kantar Media,
the highest of all programs aired on Saturday and Sunday (December 1). Many
viewers also opted to watch the event online with ABS-CBN News' live streaming
on Facebook Live hitting 1.8 million views with 63,000 reactions. Those who
have missed the event can catch it up in full on ABS-CBN's online streaming service
iWant. Filipino netizens were also united in praise along with spectators and
households for the 2019 SEA Games Opening Ceremony with hashtags and topics

Meanwhile,
