Established as one of the biggest annual music events in the
Philippines today, the Malasimbo Music and Arts Festival has been a platform
for up-and-coming and renouned local artists hailing from different parts of
the country as well as those from across the globe to showcase their musical
prowess. This year, it will be different because Malasimbo has an additional
purpose upon its upcoming staging and that would be to help ABS-CBN Lingkod
Kapamilya Foundation's programs benefitting the environment.
Slated to be held on February 29 and March 1, 2020, the Malasimbo
organizers have chosen a more accessible and more interestingly intriguing venue
where the festival will take place and it would happen to be none other than the
La Mesa Eco Park in Quezon City, Bantay Kalikasan's premiere base location.
According to Malasimbo founder and festival director Miro Grgic, the La Mesa Eco
Park has its own amphitheatre that sounds good and reflects the same exact
conditions as the previous event's venue. It makes good sense why the ecopark
is well resonated with the theme of this year's Malasimbo fest considering that
it definitely aligned with its newfound cause.
Headlining the festival are well-known local and international acts
including Cory Henry and the Funk Apostles, Mike Love, Laneous, Anomalie, Jesus
Molino, Matteo Mancuso, Uncomfortable Science, Brigada, Project Yazz and Talata
Ni Tata. Also set to perform their own impressive sets are foremost DJs Ean
Mayor, Roberto Sena, Deej Fabian, Bass Relief, Norris King, Bing Austria, Rei
Ka, Bignay Sound System and Jingga Who. Aside from the musical performances, several
music industry experts will deliberately share their experiences in the local
and international music scene while spectators and their loved ones can enjoy
an array of rainforest activities such as archery, swimming and many others.
Tickets for the weekend musical showcase can be availed via Kapamilya
Tickets at ktx.ph. As part of its
long-standing advocacy of environmental awareness, Malasimbo will be donating
ten percent (10%) of its ticket sales to Bantay Kalikasan. Malasimbo Music and
Arts Festival is produced by Volume Unit Entertainment Inc.
