Global
online entertainment service Netflix officially revealed its list of the top
ten most popular overall, movie and series releases in the Philippines of 2019.
Based on the streaming brand's data, 6 Underground was hailed as the most
popular overall release in the country throughout the said period and
eventually topped the list of most popular movie releases as well, while The
Witcher which is based on the video game series of the same name is crowned the
most popular series release of the said year.
On
the other hand, three Filipino movies have surprisingly landed on the list of
the most popular movie releases of 2019 in the country considering that they
were respectively released on Netflix. These include Star Cinema's Eerie
starring Bea Alonzo and Charo Santos and directed by Mikhail Red, Viva Films'
Miss Granny starring Sarah Geronimo and James Reid, and Ang Babaeng Allergic Sa
WiFi (The Girl Allergic To WiFi). Both Eerie and Miss Granny have eventually
made their way to the most popular overall releases list. Included in the ten
most popular series releases list are the Korean romantic fantasy drama Hotel
Del Luna which is currently airing weeknights on ABS-CBN, Stranger Things 3,
Always Be My Maybe, Kingdom, Lucifer and Titans among others within the list.
This
just proves that Filipino binge-watchers are enjoying and indulging on a
well-diversed library of entertainment choices available on Netflix regardless
of what genre they want to try. With that in mind, here is the complete list of
