For
the first time since its founding in 1996, the Asian Television Awards
officially announced that its 24th edition is slated to take place in the
Philippines. The award-giving body which will be attended by 300 international
delegates including filmmakers, actors and producers will be held on January
10-12, 2020 at the Newport Performing Arts Theater inside Resorts World Manila
in Pasay City.
The
awarding ceremony on January 11th will be hosted by Star Magic artist Mark
Neumann and ABS-CBN News Channel's Cathy Yang of "Market Edge" who is
nominated for Best News Presenter/Anchor. Alongside them in helming the ceremony
are Thai actress Ase Wang and Singapore media personality Wallace Ang. The good
news is that Filipinos can now catch up on what is happening in the awarding
ceremony of the 24th Asian Television Awards on their television screens as it
will be aired exclusively on TV5. The annual event will be culminated with a
concert featuring Indonesia's Anggun, South Korea's Cherry Bullet, Vietnam's
Hwang Yen Chibi, Martin Nievera, Jona, Morisette, and Gab and Kiana Valenciano.
Aside
from Cathy Yang, earning huge nominations for the Philippines in the Asian Television
Awards include Mystified on iflix (Best Digital Fiction Series, Best Original
Series/Telemovie, Best Director for Fiction - Mark Reyes, Best Theme Song -
"Simula"), Cignal Entertainment's Born Beautiful (Best Original Digital
Drama Series), Martin Del Rosario (Best Leading Male Performance In A Digital
Series), Asia's pop sweetheart Julie Anne San Jose (Best Actress In A Leading
Role), Cito Beltran (Best News Presenter/Anchor), Barangay 143 (Best 2D Animated
Program, Best Theme Song) and several programs from Cignal's exclusive channels
including Political Capital (Best Talk Show), Numbers (Best Sports Program),
and Discover Eats (Best Lifestyle Program).
Since its inception in 1996, the Asian Television Awards is considered as the most celebrated and prestigious gathering of industry professionals and artists in Asian television and has recognized hundreds of actors, directors, producers, hosts, presenters and TV networks across the region. Also nominated in the prestigious award-giving institution for this year include Sky Castle, NBA Asia's Mamba: The Dream and ONE Championship: A New Era among others.

ABS-CBN
is set to unleash a bounty of fresh and exciting offerings for the first quarter
of 2020 including highly-anticipated teleseryes starring some of the most popular
love teams in the country, the return of a well-loved reality singing competition
and premieres of the biggest Asian dramas.
Kicking
off the new year is the Korean romantic period drama "Flower Crew Dating
Agency" starring South Korean actor and rapper Kim Min-Jae which is slated
to debut on January 6, 2020 on the network's Kapamilya Gold block in Metro
Manila and Umaganda on regional stations nationwide. This will be followed by A
Soldier's Heart (premiering on January 20th), a thrilling primetime drama
series bearing the stories of our brave Filipino soldiers, starring Gerald
Anderson, Nash Aguas, Yves Flores, Elmo Magalona, Vin Abrenica, Jerome Ponce
and Carlo Aquino among others.
After
more than a year of waiting, the lighthearted on and off-screen tandem of
Enrique Gil and Liza Soberano makes its much-awaited TV comeback in the newest series
"Make It With You" (premiering on January 13th) which was
intriguingly shot in Croatia. On the other hand, the reality singing competition
The Voice Teens returns for a second season this coming February with Apl.De.Ap
returning as one of the show's judges. Other upcoming shows to watch out for on
ABS-CBN in 2020 include "Story of YanXi Palace", which was hailed as
the biggest Chinese drama series of 2018, and "Fall In Love With You"
starring Edward Barber and Maymay Entrata and shot in Japan.

of Filipino viewers have witnessed many unimaginable threats to the career,
community and family of Ricardo "Cardo" Dalisay in FPJ's "Ang
Probinsyano" which is already on the verge of becoming the all-time longest-running
drama series in Philippine television. Now on its fourth year in the small
screens, primetime television's everyday hero is facing his biggest mission and

Panganiban, Christopher De Leon, Edu Manzano and more. On the other hand, viewers
can also watch out for when Cardo and Alyana (Yassi Pressman) will have another
baby after the unfortunate death of their eldest child two years ago. Don't
miss the action and lessons and expect more in the new chapter of FPJ's
"Ang Probinsyano", weeknights after TV Patrol on ABS-CBN and ABS-CBN
