After
its successful first major concert which was sold out in record-breaking three
minutes, rising Filipino all-male Kpop-esque boyband SB19 is all set to
dominate the local and international music scene with the recent release of its
newest single "Alab" on a special occasion where Filipinos were
celebrating the holidays and feeling the Christmas vibes.
If
the previous singles are all about straight up fire, then "Alab" can
be beyond that as a dance-pop banger built on sophisticated production, digital
beats and pulsating grooves. Produced by Han Tae Soo, the upbeat track is
basically about finding one's true love and doing whatever it takes to win that
special someone. If you ask SB19 lead vocalist and rapper Sejun about the song,
he would open up and state that fire is thought to be one's burning desire,
emphasizing that there's no other way to confess your love than to tell the
person directly and that one should not waste time to do it.
"Alab"
is SB19's first official major single under Sony Music Philippines and the
group has expressed its gratitude to the international music brand for making
the partnership work. "With Sony Music Philippines, they're a well-known
major label worldwide. We feel like we can do much more and expand to a wider
audience," said Sejun. Sony Music, on the other hand, is thrilled to have
the group on board. In fact, Sony Music Asia VP for Business Development and
Sony Music Philippines General Manager Roslyn Pineda felt thoroughly impressed
with the group after receiving a copy of SB19's dance practice video for
"Go Up" from Sony Music Philippines A&R and Digital Director Maan
Atienza.
In
case you don't know about SB19, the group is composed of Sejun as the lead
vocalist and rapper, Josh as lead rapper and dancer, Stell as vocalist and lead
dancer, Ken as main dancer and vocalist and Justin as vocalist and with the
visuals. The fast-rising boyband debuted in 2018 with "Tilaluha" and
eventually rose to fame and gained traction with the release of the choreography-heavy
"Go Up" in July 2019 which has already captured the hearts of Filipino
netizens and music lovers. It topped the list of Google's Most Googled Male
Personalities in the Philippines for 2019 beating the likes of first-time mayors
Vico Sotto and Isko Moreno and more and recently landed on Billboard's Next Big
Sound chart which tracks the fastest accelerating artists from around the world
every past week according to Billboard.com.
SB19's "Alab" is
now available on all music streaming and downloading platforms worldwide. Follow
