An impressively intriguing award-giving body is set to become the most innovative organization in the country that honors and recognizes Filipino creativity and talent in live entertainment and arts festivals with the highest standards of artistic excellence, socioeconomic values and sensibilities and Filipino aesthetics and originality and its name is L.E.A.F. which obviously stands for Live Entertainment and Arts Festivals.

Led by its president Sonny O. Valencia, the Philippine L.E.A.F. Awards aims to engage with Filipino talents and artists, professionals and non-professionals alike, in live entertainment and arts festivals as often as possible through watching and experiencing their performances in different parts of the country. These include educational institution-based and community-based individuals and organizations. Aside from engagement, L.E.A.F intends to assist in nurturing and developing future Filipino talents and artists by recognizing their works through award-giving rites and other activities as well as to contribute to local audience development, audience education and increased local theater influence by paying homage to outstanding Filipino talents and artists and their productions.

With the guidance and original concept of President Valencia, multimedia artist and graphic designer Justin Lacson developed the organization's logo headlined by his use of the anahaw leaf which is highly regarded as the unofficial national leaf of the Philippines. The organization's rendition of the said leaf in its logo in full bloom symbolizes the complete blossoming of the Filipino people's creativity, originality and artistry. Held last February 8th at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium at RCBC Makati City, the first edition of the Philippine L.E.A.F. Awards honored the finest local artists and talents for their exemplary performances in the fields of music, theater, dance and festival arts as well as those who have contributed greatly to the said fields.
