Kolehiyo Ng Lungsod Ng Lipa (formerly Lipa City Public College), the city's gift of free tertiary education to all, celebrated its 26th year anniversary last February 12-14, 2020 with the theme "Educating Youth, Building Character, Advocating Progress". I thought that this year's founding anniversary celebration would be no different than the previous occasions since its inception in 1994. However, I was wrong when I watched a preview video on its official Facebook page and it caught my surprising attention.

Thousands of students from Lipa City and neighboring towns were having a time of their life like no other during the three-day affair within KLL's main campus in Maraouy. There were booths and fun-filled activities showcasing their undaunting talent and prowess. Some of these activities were a bit intriguing for me such as a best vlog competition and a song writing tilt where participants composed what would be the college's official hymn and there are some typical ones that usually do in other schools such as Battle of the Bands and a Mobile Legends tournament though I don't know if the ladder ever took place.

What caught my eye throughout the celebration may not be relevant to the theme, but it made every student who have seen and experienced this special something smile and think of having fun just for a while. That would be the transformation of the main campus' wide front open grounds into a mini outdoor amusement park with rides that can be regarded as at par with a typical carnival during festivals or even inside Quezon Memorial Circle's Circle Of Fun. With so much awe brewing in my heart, I have to give credit to whoever is responsible for making it possible throughout the celebration considering that I wish I could see it for myself. Heck, it even impressed Lipa City Mayor Eric B. Africa joining the celebration during his free time.

Anyway, the celebration capped out with a night of sound on Valentines Day headlined by the music of Soapdish which delighted students and gave them something that will help them pursue their goals and fulfillments during their time at KLL. Filling the mood with smiles and sounds, the 26th founding anniversary of Kolehiyo Ng Lungsod Ng Lipa (KLL) is one unique occasion that will be unforgettable and probably one of the most uniquely memorable in its history. By the way, aside from the anniversary committee for a job well done and unmatched, I as a former KLLista in my own right would also like to congratulate Joshua De Guzman and Nichole De Chavez of the College Of Teacher Education for being crowned as this year's Mr. and Mrs. Faces.

With these in mind, I wish KLL to continue providing more right-minded and underprivileged students in the city of Lipa not just free quality tertiary education, but the benefits of having fun while studying in preparation for their foreseeable future.
