Warcraft III Returns In A Reforged Retelling

At Blizzcon 2018, among the announcements made by Blizzard Entertainment was the return of the original Warcraft III which was released back in 2002 for PCs. More than a year later, the hybrid real-time strategy game that started the professional gaming boom around the world makes its presence anew as promised and is now available as Warcraft III: Reforged.

Warcraft III: Reforged is the remastered version of the original Warcraft III and its expansion Frozen Throne. The reimagining of the game tailor made for all generations of PC gamers and Warcraft fans features overhauled graphics, audio and matchmaking features while retaining the gameplay and campaign of the real-time strategy classic. Here are some of the game's more interesting features as stated by Blizzard.

* Complete Graphical Overhaul - Warcraft III: Reforged brings the original game into the modern era of high-definition gaming goodness and eSports with fully overhauled characters, structures, environments, animations and graphical effects.
* Multiplayer Between Versions - Players will be able to battle against those who have played and are playing Warcraft III regardless of whether they're using the original or the reforged.
* Higher Fidelity Audio - Warcraft III's audio has been remastered and improved for Reforged, including the game's original voice-over recordings.
* Rebuilt World Editor - The World Editor is back to empower the game's longstanding creator community to reach new heights with hundreds of new triggers, LUA scripting support, new tools for importing models and more enhancements planned for the future.
* Full Battle.net Implementation - Players can enjoy the full suite and force of Battle.net's features to bolster their Warcraft III experience which includes text and voice chat, groups and seamless installation and patching among others.

Warcraft III: Reforged can be availed online via the Blizzard Shop. Aside from the standard edition which costs US$2.99, it also has a special "Spoils of War" edition that comes with unique hero skins for Arthas, Cenarius, Jaina and Thrall. Available for US$3.99, the special edition also includes a host of in-game bonus items from other Blizzard games such as a Meat Wagon mount from World of Warcraft, the Third War cardback from Hearthstone, and a Mal'ganis pet from Diablo III.
