ABS-CBN's "Pantawid Ng Pag-ibig" Campaign Extends Help Outside Metro Manila

ABS-CBN, the premiere media and entertainment company in the Philippines, has extended the operations of its "Pantawid Ng Pag-ibig" public service campaign outside Metro Manila and eventually began bringing food and basic necessities funded through donations received from all over the world to local government units (LGUs) in Cavite, Laguna, Rizal and Bulacan for residents in the said areas who are unable to make a living and provide for the families due to the imposed Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine which has been officially extended by the national government until April 30, 2020.

The good news about the extended operations of "Pantawid Ng Pag-ibig" was shared last April 7th (Tuesday) by Kapamilya news anchor Bernadette Sembrano-Aguinaldo in ABS-CBN's flagship daily primetime newscast "TV Patrol" which continues to deliver news and updates regarding on the COVID-19 pandemic. Since the campaign's inception last March 17th, ABS-CBN has gone all over Metro Manila to bring food and basic necessities that the local government units in 17 cities will repack and distribute to families in their areas. The network delivered products such as rice, canned goods, noodles, biscuits, milk, coffee, shampoo, soap, detergent and vitamins to residents in Caloocan, Las Piñas, Malabon, Makati, Mandaluyong, Manila, Marikina, Muntinlupa, Navotas, Parañaque, Pasay, Pasig, Pateros, Quezon City, San Juan, Taguig and Valenzuela.

As of April 7th, "Pantawid Ng Pag-ibig" received a total of more than Php324 million in cash donations and pledges. From the said amount, about Php265.7 million was used to purchase goods. So far, Php134 million worth of goods were already delivered to the LGUs. ABS-CBN is thankful for the trust and support of the kind-hearted individuals and corporations for their generosity at this difficult time. The network is also grateful for the cooperation of LGUs, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and private companies working alongside the company to assist our countrymen while they are advisably mandated to stay inside their homes in order to stop the further spread of the COVID-19 pandemic within their communities.

Aside from "Pantawid Ng Pag-ibig", ABS-CBN has also assisted 57 hospitals across the Metro by donating N95 masks, surgical masks, hygiene kits, goggles, and snacks that healthcare workers need as they continue to care for the sick, more particularly those who are gravely affected by the pandemic. With the ECQ slated to end in a few weeks, ABS-CBN continues to ask for donations from those who are able and want to help.
