On the verge of being at the end of its life cycle, the PlayStation 4 has now sold over 118 million units worldwide maintaining its stand in the records as the second highest-grossing video game system of all time next to the PlayStation 2. Without question, a major factor in the next-gen console's continuing success in the global gaming market is its vast library of exclusive titles that have literally gained momentum in terms of sales such as Marvel's Spiderman, God Of War, and Horizon Zero Dawn among others. With this on hand and the highly-anticipated release of the PS5 possibly to be within the holiday season, forthcoming exclusive titles for Sony's PlayStation consoles are set to undergo one interesting change in mind.

Slated to be launched alongside the PlayStation 5, Sony Interactive Entertainment officially announced that all forthcoming PS4 and PS5 exclusive titles developed by SIE Worldwide Studios will be released under the PlayStation Studios brand. SIE Worldwide Studios housed a various number of renouned game development studios owned and acquired such as Santa Monica Studio, Naughty Dog, Insomniac Games, Guerilla Games, Polyphony Digital and Media Molecule among others. The games developed by these studios and will be released under one universal brand is set to be a strong testament to their exclusivity to the PS4 and soon the PS5.

In fact, once you started playing a PS4 or PS5 game under PlayStation Studios, you will be greeted by an opening animation that can be at par with Microsoft's Xbox Game Studios for games exclusive on the Xbox One and the upcoming Xbox Series X and eventually bear striking similarities to the opening animation of Marvel Studios at the start of every Marvel Cinematic Universe. The opening animation below features prominent characters within the PlayStation brand including Kratos (God Of War), Ellie (The Last Of Us), Aloy (Horizon Zero Dawn), Ratchet and Clank, and Nathan Drake (Uncharted) among others reflecting over the 3D variations of the PlayStation's iconic face buttons.

Furthermore, according to Games Industry, the PlayStation Studios branding on forthcoming PlayStation games will also appear on physical copies. These and other intriguing details about the branding would certainly assure young and old PlayStation gamers that they can enjoy and indulge on what their preferred games offer in the foreseeable future. By the way, the branding won't apply to either The Last Of Us Part II, Ghosts Of Tsushima or any other upcoming PS4 exclusive game made by SIE Worldwide Studios slated for release throughout the year until the PS5 becomes available. At least a glimpse of what the PlayStation Studios branding through the opening animation should give you enough leeway to stick to your PS4 and eventually make the decision of shifting towards the PS5.
