A descriptive essential guide on how to turn on/off Globe VoLTE depending on the handset. (Image Source: GIZGUIDE/Globe Telecom) |
Powered by Globe's 4G LTE network, calls made on VoLTE have better audio quality and can connect users faster compared to the usual calls done through 2G and 3G. It uses voice and data simultaneously, allowing seamless multi-tasking and sharing information from the web or on apps while making a call. Meanwhile, WiFi calling commonly known as VoWiFi is allowed to be routed via WiFi connectivity. This extends network coverage across areas with poor signal quality. Subscribers can use the service to make and receive voice calls in high-definition as long as they have a stable WiFi connection.
Both VoLTE and VoWiFi do not consume mobile data considering that the former uses an LTE signal while the ladder employs WiFi network connectivity to initiate and accept calls. Globe also shared that customers won't be charged additional fees on top of regular voice call rates or subscription upon using these services. Anyway, Globe Telecom's VoLTE and VoWiFi services are initially available in Metro Manila and for Globe Postpaid and Business subscribers owning any Samsung, Huawei or Nokia smartphone.
