The continuing threat of the COVID-19 global pandemic may have kept us away from each other physically since we are encouraged to practice social distancing for our own safety and well-being against the virus, but this does not stop us from doing things that are fun and can keep us entertained while staying and playing safe altogether. Though we are not allowed to partake in the activities that interests us, the online world gives us the chance to stay in touch and eventually indulge in a number of normal hobbies and undertakings.

Toyota Motors Philippines (TMP) is one of those that allow us to take part in the excitement that we want to enjoy even though, for the meantime, it is confined to the realms of the online world. With safety is of the highest concern for everyone and mass gatherings are foreseen to be limited in the coming months as part of the so-called "new normal", TMP is set to roll out the GR Sutra GT Cup Asia - Philippines on July which is a greatly interesting way to sustain the excitement of motorsports in the country but in a safe environment.

The GR Sutra GT Cup Asia - Philippines is a virtual racing program under Toyota's Gazoo Racing motorsports program and will feature the newest iteration of Toyota's iconic sports badge - the GR Sutra. The event will be held online and is open to the public, 18 years old and above. The GR Sutra GT Cup Asia - Philippines winners will get a chance to participate in the regional finals of the GR Sutra GT Cup Asia where they are slated to race and compete against the best virtual racers in Asia straight from the comforts of their own homes. And from TMP's perspective, the program is set to be a fun and safe alternative to the Vios Racing Festival considering that eSports in the Philippines has grown over the years and its addition to various international sporting programs further legitimized the sport as strongly evidenced by the Filipino medalists it has produced at the 2019 SEA Games.
