For the first time in ten years, the orange spin-jumping and dancing marsupial Crash Bandicoot makes its return in what is considered a true sequel to its original trilogy fittingly named Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time which is slated to become available worldwide for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 4 Pro, and Microsoft's family of Xbox One devices including the Xbox One X on October 2, 2020. An epic and absurd platforming adventure completely built from the ground up, Crash is back and, along with his friends, is out to protect the entire space-time continuum across the multiverse from Dr. Neo Cortex, Dr. N. Tropy, and other nefarious forces.

What makes the Crash Bandicoot franchise more entertaining is its core gameplay experience - an intense and hilarious 3D platforming experience defined by a certain marsupial's brash attitude. This remains intact in Crash Bandicoot 4 but comes with new twists including a reimagined and updated art style, new gameplay mechanics, and innovative features such as being able to switch between Modern and Retro modes of play. The game's developer Toys For Bob, which is behind Spyro Reiginited Trilogy and the awesome Nintendo Switch port of Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, is introducing a fresh take on not just Crash, his friends and enemies but also the landscapes around them with new worlds, lush environments and an absurd variety of enemies and hazards while staying true to the franchise's sand spirit.

New to Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time are Quantum Masks, four powerful guardians of space and time that allow Crash and friends to bend the rules of reality and conquer dangerous obstacles in exciting new ways. Among these masks which were introduced in the trailer below are Kapuna-Wa, the Time Mask that slows down time to allow for even more precise movements, and Ika Ika, the Gravity Mask that allows for platforming upside down despite the regular laws of physics. Furthermore, aside from taking on fiendish platforming challenges as Crash and Coco, you can also control newly playable characters during your quest to save the multiverse in order to gain alternative perspectives on how our well-loved bandicoot heroes save the world one shimmy dance at a time. Case in point is the evil Dr. Neo Cortex of all people.

Let's not forget to mention a host of new and interesting features such as larger-than-life boss battles and new platforming tricks including wall climbing, rail grinding and rope swinging - all packed in what is considered by Activision and Toys For Bob as a love letter to generations of Crash Bandicoot fans around the world. Those who have successfully pre-ordered a copy of It's About Time, which is yet to be announced by local gaming retailers, will receive Totally Tubular Skins (available at launch) which puts into some digs that shows off their radical roots.
